Lighting device, display device and television receiver

A lighting deviceof the present invention includes a plurality of light sourcesand a chassisthat accommodates the light sources. The chassisis formed of a plate member and includes a bottom plateof a flat plate and outer rimshaving a folding configuration formed at the edges of the bottom plate. The outer rimincludes a first folded portionand a second folded portionthat is formed by further folding a part of the first folded portion. Since the outer rimhas a double folding configuration, strength of the outer rimitself is increased to suppress distortion of the chassis. Accordingly, uniform brightness is provided.

A display device includes a light source and a light source driver configured to drive the light source. In at least one embodiment, the light source driver is configured to drive the light source with brightness control. It is capable of generating pulse width modulation signals using different dimming. A dimming frequency is selected from the different dimming frequencies according to an installation mode of the display device.
