A sealing device in which diameter expansion of an inserted first back-up ring is suppressed. The sealing device includes a seal ring mounted in a rectangular mounting groove, the first back-up ring, and a second back-up ring. The first back-up ring has an end surface contacting an opposing-sealing-fluid-side side surface of the mounting groove. The second back-up ring has an end surface contacting the seal ring. A contact surface in an inner peripheral end of second back-up ring is perpendicular to the axis to contact an opposing-sealing-fluid-side side surface of the mounting groove. The inner diameter of the first back-up ring is set to be larger than the outer diameter of the contact surface portion of the second back-up ring, and the outer diameter of the first back-up ring is set to be smaller than the inner diameter of a housing.

Sealing device

A sealing device has a seal ring, a first backup ring and a second backup ring. The first backup ring is formed into a triangular cross section while having an axially vertical end surface portion, a cylindrical peripheral surface portion, and an inclined surface portion intersecting the end surface portion and the peripheral surface portion. The second backup ring is formed into a triangular cross section while having an axially vertical end surface portion, a cylindrical peripheral surface portion, and an inclined surface portion in correspondence to the inclined surface portion of the first backup ring. A cut portion is provided in a corner portion where the end surface portion and the inclined surface portion in the first backup ring intersect, and a corner portion where the peripheral surface portion and the inclined surface portion in the second backup ring intersect.

A sealing structure suppresses possible damage to a seal ring because of a backup ring. The sealing structure is characterized in that a cut portionthat is cut in a planar shape is formed in a backup ringat one position in a circumferential direction, the cut portionis configured such that a cut surfaceis oblique to a central axis of the backup ring, an acute angle of angles between a surface on the high pressure side of the backup ringand the cut surfaceis set to not less than 15&#xb0; and not more than 30&#xb0;, and the backup ringis formed of a resin material having Rockwell hardness of 100 or less, durometer hardness of 70 or less, and elastic modulus of 1.0 GPa or less.

Sealing structure

Provided is an intake noise reduction device that can suppress an occurrence of noise in an intake pipe. An intake noise reduction device () disposed on a downstream side of a throttle valve in an intake pipe and including a flow-guiding net () that guides an air flow, wherein the flow-guiding net includes a mesh that is configured to be fine in a vicinity of a center of a flow passage in the intake pipe and to become coarser with distance from the vicinity of the center. For example, the mesh flow-guiding net () is formed of a plurality of radial portions () extending radially outward from the vicinity of the center of the flow passage in the intake pipe and a plurality of concentric portions () provided concentrically from the vicinity of the center.

Intake noise reduction device

A gasket is provided which is intended to improve its sealing performance by attaining a further stabilization of the posture thereof in a groove. In a gasket () in which a protruded part (), which serves to stabilize the posture of the gasket () in a groove () by being in contact with an inner wall surface of the groove () in a state where the gasket is sandwiched by a head cover () and a cylinder head, is continuously formed in a longitudinal direction of the gasket (), the protruded part () is characterized by a stepped structure which includes a first protruded portion () with the largest amount of protrusion that is formed along the vicinity of a center of a gasket main body, a second protruded portion () with the smallest amount of protrusion that is formed at the side of the head cover (), and a third protruded portion () that is formed at the side of the cylinder head, and has an amount of protrusion which is smaller than that of the first protruded portion (), and larger than that of the second protruded portion ().

Gasket

There is provided a sealing structure and a gasket which can seal both of a portion where a groove for mounting the gasket is formed and a portion where a groove for mounting the gasket is not formed when the portions are connected. Sealing structure and gasket

A first gasketis placed in a groove formed in a cam cover and seals a gap between a cylinder head and the cam cover. The first gasketincludes a pair of seal lipswhich come into tight contact with the cylinder head and which are provided in parallel to each other, and a plurality of connecting portionswhich are provided between the pair of seal lips, which are connected to each of the seal lips, and which hold a distance between the seal lipsnear the connected portion.

A gasket in an integrated double-layered structure comprising an outer layer and an inner layer enclosed by the outer layer, in which the outer layer is a low-hardness rubber layer having a JIS A hardness of 40-70, and the inner layer is a high-hardness rubber layer having a JIS A hardness of 80-100, where a ratio h/hof height h of the inner layer to height hof the outer layer is preferably 0.3-0.8, and ratio d/dof height d of the inner layer to width dof the outer layer is preferably 0.5-0.8 in the longitudal cross-section as view from the width direction of the gasket, has a low reaction force, and distinguished sealability and insertibility, and used as inserted between two members, one of which has a groove for insertion.
