There is provided a valve system for an internal combustion engine, in which a rocker shaft required to have a higher stiffness has a larger diameter. A rocker shaft on an intake side is formed to have a larger diameter than that of a rocker shaft on an exhaust side, and therefore, it is possible to ensure such stiffness as to compensate for an excess in weight and to improve valve operating characteristics of a valve system.

Valve system for internal combustion engine

A structure for a camshaft includes a cam angle detecting element arranged to face a cam angle sensor and supported in a cantilever manner by a cam journal on the outer side of the cam journal. An extension journal between the cam journal and the cam angle detecting element is enlarged toward the cam journal such that the external diameter on the side of the cam journal may be larger than the external diameter on the side of the cam angle detecting element.

Camshaft structure

A valve system for an internal combustion engine in which accumulating means can be provided without deteriorating the ease of assembly is provided. A variable valve control mechanism provides control to selectively open and close intake valves and exhaust valves. Pressurized oil supplied to the variable valve control mechanism is accumulated in an accumulator. The body of the accumulator is inserted into and fixed in a hole of a cylinder head. The length of a gap formed between the upper part of the body of the accumulator and a flat plate is set to be shorter than the length of a screw part of the body of the accumulator. Therefore, the accumulator can be replaced and maintained easily, and can be prevented from falling off.

Valve device for engine

A rocker arm with a roller made with a metal plate and utilized in a valve actuating System of an engine is provided. The roller mounting rocker arm includes a rocker arm body (11) having a pair of side walls (11c) and a connecting portion 12 for connecting the side walls (11c), a roller (7) mounted between the side walls (11c), a pivot engageable recess (12a) formed on the connecting portion by drawing, and a valve stem receiving portion (14) formed at the other end of the side walls (11c). This roller mounting rocker arm has a high rigidity and is suitable for mass-production, and low cost is realized.

Method for manufacturing a rocker arm with a roller

A rocker arm with a roller made with a metal plate and utilized in a valve actuating system of an engine is provided. The roller mounting rocker arm includes a rocker arm body (11) having a pair of side walls (11c) and a connecting portion 12 for connecting the side walls (11c), a roller (7) mounted between the side walls (11c), a pivot engageable recess (12a) formed on the connecting portion by drawing, and a valve stem receiving portion (14) formed at the other end of the side walls (11c). This roller mounting rocker arm has a high rigidity and is suitable for mass-production, and low cost is realized.

Rocker arm with roller and a method for manufacturing the same

Disclosed herein is a roller rocker arm comprising a rocker arm body having a rocking center hole through which a rocker shaft is inserted and adapted to be rockably supported to the rocker shaft; a pair of forked projections projecting from the rocker arm body in a direction perpendicular to a tangent of a circle about a rocking center axis of the rocker arm body; a pair of pin holes formed through the pair of forked projections; a hollow roller pin inserted into the pair of pin holes and fixed between the pair of forked projections; a cam follower roller through which the roller pin is inserted; a plurality of needle rollers interposed between the cam follower roller and the roller pin for rotatably supporting the cam follower roller to the roller pin in such a manner as to extend in parallel one another in a longitudinal direction of the roller pin; a pair of disk-like spacers rotatably supported to the roller pin and interposed between ends of the needle rollers and the projections; and an adjuster mounted in the rocker arm body and adapted to abut against a valve.
