A battery terminal (A) has an arcuate fitting () fittable on a battery post (). Fasteners () extend out from opposite edges of an opening of the fitting () and face each other. A shaft () of a bolt () is inserted through holes () in the fasteners () and is tightened with a nut (). Thus, the fasteners () approach each other and the fitting () is deformed inwardly for retention on the battery post (). The head () of the bolt () contacts the outer circumferential surface of the fitting () so that the bolt () cannot turn as the nut () is turned. The fasteners () are sufficiently close to the fitting () for the head () of the bolt () to contact the outer circumferential surface of the fitting (). Therefore the distance between the fasteners () and the fitting () is shortened.

Battery terminal

A battery-connecting member () has a base () for accommodating a fuse () and a casing () for accommodating the base (). The base () includes a battery terminal (), busbars (A,B) and the fuse (). A box-accommodating portion () is provided in the casing () for accommodating the fuse () and is provided with an operation space closing portion () at a side toward which the fuse () is detached. Thus, the fuse () cannot be detached unless the battery-connecting member () is detached from a battery () and the casing () and the base () are separated.

Battery connecting member and method of mounting it to a battery

A protection cover includes a lid ( ) and a cover ( ) which have interfering portions ( ), which do not interfere with each other while the cover ( ) is being displaced from an exposing position to a protecting position, if the lid ( ) is mounted properly in a closing position with respect to the accommodating portion ( ). However the interfering portions ( ) interfere to prevent the cover ( ) from reaching the proper closing position when the lid ( ) is mounted improperly. Thus, whether the lid ( ) is mounted properly on the accommodating portion ( ) can be detected based on whether or not the interfering portions ( ) interfere with each other while the cover ( ) is being displaced to the pretecting position.

Protection cover for a battery terminal and a battery terminal

A protective cover has a body in which an electrical wire connection part of a battery connection terminal is installed and a cover piece covering a clamping part of the terminal and hinged to the body. The cover piece contains a pair of elastically deformable locking arms extending vertically. The body has receiving portions locking lip portions of the locking arms thereto when the cover piece is closed. The locking arms are protected inside the cover piece and are sufficiently flexible to reduce risk of breakage on repeated opening and closing.

A protective cover that fits with battery terminals of different sizes includes a main body having a side wall A capable of being opened or closed via hinges , a battery terminal being inserted from the side when the side wall A is in an open state. A position fixing member that houses a clamping ring of a clamping member is made from a pair of surrounding walls A and B which protrude outwards from the side wall A and a side wall B. Resilient movable members A and B are formed out of the surrounding walls A and B, these members A and B protruding inwards. The clamping ring of the smaller battery terminal is supported by arc shaped receiving faces A and B of the resilient movable members A and B, and the clamping ring of the larger battery terminal is supported by the receiving faces A and B of the resilient movable members A and B which have been bent outwards, and by receiving faces A and B of the surrounding walls A and B.

Protective cover for battery terminal

A divided connector is provided to reduce engaging forces and to enable a simplified engagement detection. The connector has male and female connector housings 1, 2; 51, 60 each carrying a group of terminal fittngs 7, 7a, 12. Either one of the connector housings 1, 2; 51, 60 is divided into a plurality of housing pieces 3, 4; 61, 62, 63 so as to be fittable and engageable with a plurality of corresponding accommodation positions in the other connector housing 1, 2; 51, 60. The connector has a controller 14-16; 18-25; 45, 47, 48; 65-74; 114-124 for controlling the fitting and/or engagement of a previously fitted and/or engaged housing piece 3, 4; 61, 62, 63, and engagement detector means 7a, 27-43 for detecting whether or not the last housing piece 3, 4; 61, 62, 63 was properly engaged.

Connector assembly with sequentially engageable housings

A connector cover includes a cover main body 6A is formed with a connector receptacle 6b for accommodating a connector 1 inserted through an upper opening 6a, a corrugate tube receptacle 6d for accommodating a corrugate tube 4 inserted through an upper opening 6c, and an intermediate wire portion receptacle 6j for accommodating intermediate wire portions 3a between the connector 1 and the wires 3 inserted through an upper opening 6k. A lid 6B is formed with a connector/wire covering portion 6h which is unitarily formed with the cover main body 6A by way of a hinge 6e and is adapted to close the upper openings 6a and 6k of the connector receptacle 6b and the intermediate wire portion receptacle 6j and lockingly engage the cover main body 6A. A corrugate tube covering portion 6i is unitarily formed with the connector/wire covering portion 6h by way of a hinge 6m and is adapted to close the upper opening 6c of the corrugate tube receptacle 6d and lockingly engage the main body 6A.

Connection cover

Three male terminals are inserted respectively into terminal receiving chambers in a male connector housing and a bus bar is inserted into the terminal receiving chambers through a through-hole. As a result, the insertion side portion of the bus bar is press-fitted in reception grooves in bus bar press-fitting portions disposed beneath the through-hole. Thus, the insertion side portion of the bus bar is received in the reception grooves in the three male terminals, and is mechanically fixed to and electrically connected to the male terminals, so that three insulated wires connected respectively to the male terminals are connected together only at the male connector housing.
