In a driving circuit of a spontaneous light emitting display device driven as an active matrix, a noise current is prevented from flowing in a light emitting element when compensating for a threshold voltage of a transistor for controlling current flowing to the emitting element, enhancing precision in luminance. A switching element for short-circuiting electrodes of the spontaneous light emitting element for a period in which the noise current flows in the light emitting element bypasses the noise current.

Spontaneous light emitting display device

In a spontaneous light-emitting display device operating in an active matrix mode, variations in the threshold voltages of transistors controlling the current flowing to light-emitting elements and variations in the light emission threshold voltages of the light-emitting elements are suppressed, reducing variations in the luminance of the light-emitting elements. Light-detecting elements detect light emitted by the light-emitting elements, and threshold voltages of the transistors are detected by the voltages of nodes of resistors and the light-emitting elements. Further, transistors controlled by respective signals of the light-detecting elements also detect the light emission threshold voltages of the light-emitting elements.

Spontaneous light-emitting display device

A spontaneous light emitting display device with low power consumption suppresses fluctuation in characteristics of driving elements of light emitting pixels and has no fluctuation in light emitting luminance of a light emitting element. For each of light emitting pixels arranged in a matrix, a respective photoelectric converting portion detects light emitted from the corresponding light emitting pixels is provided, so that a current flowing to the light emitting pixels is controlled by using a voltage produced from the respective photoelectric converting portion. The device suppresses luminance variation of the light emitting pixel even when the conversion gain of the photoelectric portion varies.

A plurality of liquid crystal modules is vertically and horizontally arranged, each of which is supplied light by a light source via optical fibers. A screen can be wound up at a cabinet. An image from each of the plurality of liquid crystal modules does not interfere one another because a light shielding board is installed.

Image display system

A liquid crystal display includes: a scattering-polarizer provided between a liquid crystal and a back light for transmitting a polarization component in one direction of light from back light, but scattering and reflecting a polarization component in a direction which is orthogonal thereto: and a scattered light reflector reflecting the reflected and scattered light toward scattering-polarizer along with the polarization component in above mentioned one direction. Thus, a liquid crystal display which is inexpensive and has high display quality with reduced power consumption is obtained.

A light emitting device is provided including a front panel on which fluorescent elements are arranged in a matrix form and a rear panel onwhich cathodes are arranged in a corresponding relation to the fluorescent elements. The cathodes emit thermoelectrons for causing the fluorescent elements to emit light, and a square frame-like spacer is provided, one opening portionof the spacer being covered with the front panel and the other opening portion thereof covered with the rear panel. A stepped portion for fitting with the spacer is formed in a position of the rear panel to be bonded with the spacer.

The present invention relates to light emitting devices which emit light upon impingement of thermoelectrons on a front panel having fluorescent elements and where an array of cathodes and electrodes are provided on a substrate within each light emitting device. Thus, in the present invention, first electrode leads having a coefficient of thermal expansion substantially equal to that of the substrate are inserted into and through the substrate, and second electrode leads having a coefficient of thermal expansion substantially equal to that of the rear panel are inserted into and through the rear panel, and the first and second electrode leads are connected such that the substrate is supported at a distance above the rear panel.

Light emitting device resistant to damage by thermal expansion

The present invention relates to a light emitting device which emits light upon impingement of thermoelectrons on a front panel having fluorescent elements. In each bonding surface of a spacer which is bonded to both front and rear panels, a positional deviation or displacement of the spacer with respect to the front panel, the rear panel or a shielding electrode is prevented, whereby there is obtained a light emitting device of high accuracy free of variations in luminance, and it is made possible to reduce a dead space between adjacent light emitting devices and thereby attain a display of high resolution. In order to obtain such display, the front panel and the spacer, as well as the rear panel and the spacer, are respectively bonded through premolded frit glass.

Method of forming a light emitting device

A large-size screen display apparatus, having a plurality of projection display devices arrayed in a matrix arrangement to form one large screen, is for displaying characters and the like. A screen of each projection display device consists of a transparent plate disposed on the light entrance side and a diffusing surface disposed on the viewing side. Further, and the periphery of the transparent plate is mounted to a housing of the display apparatus. Light rays emanated from a projection lens are reflected by the transparent plate, whereby an optical image is formed on the entire diffusing screen. Since the optical image is displayed on the entire surface of the diffusing screen, no non-display areas will appear on the screen even when the plurality of projection display device are arranged in the matrix array.

A fluorescent display apparatus as a constituent of picture elements of a large-screen display apparatus which is provided with control electrodes for controlling courses of thermoelectrons emitted from cathodes, thereby decreasing fluctuation in brightness of a fluorescent display cell emitting light upon being bombarded by the electrons and preventing the electrons from bombarding other than predetermined fluorescent display cell with result of no emission of false light.

Fluorescent display apparatus for use in a large-screen display comprising a display portion having fluorescent display portions arranged in a matrix and coated with fluorescent material for emitting light upon being bombarded by thermoelectrons, cathodes of the type consuming small power shaped in a linear form oriented in the direction of the row or column and disposed to oppose the display portion arranged that one cathode corresponds to two or four of the fluorescent display portions, a first control electrode in a planar form having openings made therein corresponding to the fluorescent display portions of the display portion and disposed between the display portion and the cathodes, second control electrodes disposed on the side of the cathodes opposite to the display portion, and arranged corresponding to each cathode along the length of the cathode, and third control electrodes disposed on both sides of the second control electrodes in the direction of the column, and arranged so as to correspond to each cathode.

An input pen of data input tablet comprising a magnetic core which is positioned at the data input tablet side end of a pen case and passes a magnetic flux generated from the data input tablet, a conductive holder for holding this core, a detection coil wound around on the core, and a lead wire led out from the coil in close contact with the holder. The magnetic flux generated by the current flowing into electrodes formed in the data input tablet is detected by the detection coil, thereby detecting a position on the data input tablet. A protective tube which covers at least the detection coil and magnetic core to protect the coil and core is also provided. An annular shield case formed of metal or other conductive material and functioning as an electromagnetic and electrostatic shield near the protective tube is provided in another embodiment.

Input pen data input tablet

A display unit capable of simultaneously displaying motion pictures, still pictures and character data received in a multiplexed form on a single input terminal. A decoder distributes the motion picture data directly to a motion picture data memory without modification, while a processing device receives the still picture and character data from the decoder and processes it before applying it to a still picture and character data memory. The outputs of the two memories are ORed together, then applied to drive a cathode-ray tube.
