A piezoelectric element includes a piezoelectric composition pressure sensitive substance, a first electrode, a second electrode and a covering layer. The piezoelectric composition pressure sensitive substance includes a piezoelectric ceramic powder and a flexible organic polymer. The first and second electrodes are connected to the piezoelectric composition pressure sensitive substance and electrically insulated from each other. The covering layer is provided outside of the piezoelectric ceramic powder and suppresses absorption of the water by the piezoelectric ceramic powder.

A thin-film thermistor element which has an electrically insulating substrate having first and second surfaces opposite to each other and also having a pair of through-holes defined therein so as to extend completely across the thickness thereof, and a pair of electrode films each including a body portion of large surface area and a generally comb-shaped portion continued outwardly from the body portion. The electrode films are formed by the use of a firing process on the first surface of the substrate with the respective comb-shaped portions thereof confronting with each other. First and second electroconductive films are also formed on respective surrounding wall faces defining the corresponding through-holes in the substrate in electrically connected relationship with the body portions of the associated electrode films. A temperature sensitive resistance film is formed by the use of a high frequency sputtering process on the first surface of the substrate so as to overlay the electrode films. A method of making the thermistor element is also disclosed.

An automatic weight detecting device is provided with a platform on which an object to be measured is placed, a supporting shaft for supporting the platform is rotatable and smoothly movable in the supporting direction. A driving motor rotates the supporting shaft, and an elastic member supports the supporting shaft. A load detecting device converts the load of the object, transmitted in the supporting direction of the rotatable supporting shaft through the elastic member into a given electrically physical amount and a weight detecting circuit integrates to obtain the average of the electrically physical amount while the shaft rotates, so that the weight of the object is detected.
