A heat generating device includes a holder and a heat generating member that is enclosed in the holder and that contains an oxidizable metal, a reaction accelerator, an electrolyte, and water. The heat generating member contains a transdermally-absorbable medicament and a solvent for dissolving the transdermally-absorbable medicament. It is preferable that the solvent is at least one type of polyol selected from polyols that are in their liquid state at 25&#xb0; C. It is also preferable that the heat generating member further contains at least one type of solvent composed of an oily agent that is in its liquid state at 25&#xb0; C. It is also preferable that the heat generating member further contains a surfactant. It is also preferable that the polyol is polyethylene glycol.

Heat generating device

A physiology enhancing device for improving physiological functions of a human body, etc., which comprises a heat generating element making use of chemical energy and a sheet interposed between the heat generating element and a body surface of a wearer, and which is designed to supply steam generated from the heat generating element while the device is applied to the body surface. The device exhibits steam generating capability for 2 hours or longer and, while applied to the body surface, raises the body surface temperature to a temperature from 38&#xb0; C. to lower than 42&#xb0; C. within one hour from the application. The sheet interposed between the heat generating element and the body surface preferably has a function of regulating air feed to the heat generating element and a function of transferring the heat of the physiology enhancing device to the body surface and preferably has a total thickness of 0.05 to 1.5 mm.

Physiology enhancing device

A steam-generating warming device includes a holder including a first surface adapted to face the skin of a wearer and an opposite second surface adapted to face outward and a moist heat generating member held in the holder. The moist heat generating member is configured to generate heat as a result of oxidation of an oxidizable metal, generate steam by making use of the heat, and release the steam through the first surface. The steam-generating warming device further includes a water-impregnated, water-retaining sheet adjoining the moist heating member. The water-retaining sheet is preferably disposed between the moist heat generating member and the second surface.

Steam-generating warming device

A heat generating unit is incorporated in a mask in order to actively supply warm steam, and also drug vapor, to the nose and throat, and moisturize the upper respiratory tract. It is preferable that a metal powder, salt, and water be contained in the heat generating unit, and that an exothermic composition that releases steam in conjunction with the oxidation reaction of the metal powder be used therein. It is preferable that either an inhalation valve or exhalation valve be provided in the main mask body.
