According to an aspect, a display device capable of outputting individual images to a plurality of viewpoints arranged in a predetermined direction, the display device includes: two light-transmitting substrates that face each other with a liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween; a resin layer that is a light-transmitting layer and stacked between the liquid crystal layer and one substrate positioned on a user side of the two light-transmitting substrates; and a light-shielding barrier provided between the one substrate and the resin layer and having a plurality of openings.

Display device

According to an aspect, a display device includes: a display panel; and a parallax formation panel disposed between the display panel and a viewpoint. The parallax formation panel includes first electrodes and second electrodes, the first electrodes being provided to be able to form light transmitting regions in accordance with positions of a plurality of predetermined viewpoints, the second electrodes being provided to be able to form light shielding regions that shield regions other than the light transmitting regions from light. A width of each first electrode in a first direction in which the plurality of viewpoints are arranged is longer than a length of each first electrode in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction and extending along a display surface of the display panel.

A display device includes a light source, a liquid crystal panel including a first sub-pixel and a second sub-pixel adjacent to the first sub-pixel in a first direction, and an optical control element including a light shielding layer. Each of the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel has a first width in the first direction. The light shielding layer includes an opening portion having a second width in the first direction. The second width is 1.5 times the first width. In all of light rays irradiated from the light source and transmitting through the opening portion, an angle between a first light ray transmitting through the first sub-pixel and emitted to an outside and the second light ray transmitting through the second sub-pixel and emitted to the outside is less than or equal to 2 degrees.

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display which emits display light, a retroreflective element which retroreflects incident light, an optical element including a lower surface opposing the display and the retroreflective element and an upper surface on an opposite side to the lower surface, which reflects part of the display light toward the retroreflective element and transmits reflection light retroreflected by the retroreflective element and a first blower mechanism which blows air to a side of the upper surface.

A display device includes a display portion including sub-pixels, and a light control portion overlapping the display portion. The display portion includes a red sub-pixel, a green sub-pixel, and a blue sub-pixel, each of the red sub-pixel, the green sub-pixel, and the blue sub-pixel is shaped in a parallelogram, and inclined at a first angle of greater than or equal to 4&#xb0; and less than or equal to 16&#xb0; with respect to the second direction. The light control portion is inclined at a second angle substantially equivalent to arctan (2/9) with respect to the second direction.

Display device and display method

According to an aspect, a display device includes a display panel including sub-pixels of three primary colors, and pixels having a high-luminance color having higher luminance than that of the primary colors. The three primary colors include a first primary color, a second primary color, and a third primary color. The number of the sub-pixels is smaller than twice the number of the pixels, sub-pixels of the same color are arranged at even intervals in a row direction and at even intervals in a column direction, and the sub-pixels of the same color are arranged in a staggered manner.

Disclosed is a display device including: a plurality of pixel electrodes; a plurality of opposing electrodes located over the plurality of pixel electrodes and arranged in a stripe shape; and an EL layer sandwiched between the plurality of pixel electrodes and the plurality of opposing electrodes. The plurality of opposing electrodes is electrically independent from one another. Each of the opposing electrodes may be electrically independent from the plurality of metal films. The plurality of metal films may be electrically floating.

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display portion and a light control element, wherein the display portion includes a pixel group including sub-pixels for displaying an image of L viewpoints, the light control element includes light controllers, the light controllers, the number of which is equal to m, overlap the pixel group, L and m each represent a natural number greater than or equal to 2, the light controller overlaps the sub-pixels, the number of which is equal to P, arranged in a first direction, and P, L, m satisfy the relationship of P=L/3m.

A pixel array substrate structure includes: first and second planarizing films sequentially stacked on a substrate where a circuit unit is formed; and a relay wire formed between the first and second planarizing films, in which the relay wire electrically connects a first contact portion formed on the first planarizing film and connected to the circuit unit with a second contact portion formed at a position different from the first contact portion when seen from above, on the second planarizing film.

A display device includes a plurality of sub pixels; a plurality of first electrodes, the sub pixel having the plurality of first electrodes; a plurality of second electrodes, the second electrode being provided commonly for at least one row pixel group, the row pixel group including sub pixels arrayed in a line in a first direction among the plurality of sub pixels, the plurality of second electrodes being arrayed in a second direction crossing the first direction; a light emitting layer between the first electrode and the second electrode, the sub pixel having the light emitting layer; and a plurality of third electrodes facing the second electrodes, the third electrodes and the second electrodes forming capacitances, the third electrodes being connected with a plurality of output terminals respectively.

A display device includes a plurality of first detection electrodes that are respectively disposed in a plurality of first areas, which are shaped in a stripe pattern and extend in the first direction, and extend in a first direction, an insulating layer that is disposed in a grid-like area, covers the first detection electrodes, and is placed on perimeters of pixel electrodes, and a plurality of second detection electrodes that are disposed on a sealing layer along a plurality of second areas and extend in a second direction, the second areas being included in the grid-like area, shaped in a stripe pattern, and extending in the second direction. The common electrodes are respectively disposed on a plurality of second banks and continue to the first direction.

A detection apparatus includes a first electrode, a second electrode provided at a position that does not overlap with the first electrode, a third electrode arranged facing the first electrode and the second electrode via a spacing, and a detector configured to apply a drive signal to the first electrode and detect an output signal appearing in the second electrode.
