A glass fiber product comprises glass fibers treated with a coating composition comprising a synthetic resin and a mixture of an acetylene glycol or an ethylene oxide-propylene oxide block or random adduct thereof and a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether having an HLB of 8 to 18 or a sulfur-containing surfactant.

Glass fiber-treating agent which includes: (A) 5-95% by weight of an acetylene glycol or an ethylene oxide and/or a propylene oxide adduct of an acetylene glycol; and (B) 5-95% by weight of a silicone surfactant which may be polyoxyalkylene-modified. The glass fiber-treating agent reduces dynamic and static surface tension and contact angle. The glass fiber-treating agent provides excellent wetting, penetration, and antifoaming properties when glass fibers are treated therewith.

A coating composition for a metal is provided. The coating composition comprises a synthetic resin solid content (A); a filler (B); and a mixture of (C-1) at least one member selected from an acetylene glycol represented by the following general formula (1): an ethylene oxide-propylene oxide block adduct of an acetylene glycol represented by the following general formula (2): and an ethylene oxide-propylene oxide random adduct of an acetylene glycol represented by the following general formula (3): and (C-2) a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether having an HLB of 8 to 18 represented by the following general formula (4):RO(CHO)(CHO)(CHO)(CHO)(CHO)H&#x2003;&#x2003;(4).

A protective coating is provided. This protective coating comprises a synthetic resin solid content (A); and a mixture of (B-1) acetylene glycol represented by the following general formula (1): and/or an ethoxylated derivative of the acetylene glycol represented by the following general formula (2): (B-2) at least one member selected from polyoxy(ethylene-propylene) block polymers represented by the following formula (3):O(CHO)(CHO)(CHO)(CHO)H&#x2003;&#x2003;(3).

Protective coating containing acetylene compound

An additive comprising an acetylene glycol or ethylene oxide/propylene oxide adduct of acetylene glycol and a sulfur-containing surfactant is added to a dye and water to form an ink composition which exhibits good wetting, penetrating and dispersing properties due to a reduced dynamic surface tension and complies with the environmental problem.

Ink additive and ink using same

A water-soluble surfactant composition includes an aliphatic diol and a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether. A 0.1 wt % aqueous solution of the surfactant composition has a contact angle of at most 60 degrees and a dynamic surface tension at both 1 Hz and 10 Hz of at most 50 mN/m. When used in printing inks and paper coatings, this composition provides excellent wettability, penetrability, foam inhibition and dispersibility, is compatible with environmental concerns, and has no adverse effects on printing and coating equipment.

Water-soluble surfactant composition

A dispersant composition comprising (A) 20-80% by weight of an acetylene glycol or ethoxylated acetylene glycol and (B) 20-80% by weight of a graft product of an allyl alcohol-maleic anhydride-styrene copolymer with a polyoxyalkylene monoalkyl ether, comprising (a) polyoxyalkylene monoalkyl ether units, (b) maleic anhydride units, and (c) styrene units, in a compositional ratio a:b:c of 25-40:25-40:25-40 in mole percent, and having a {overscore (Mw)} of 1,000-50,000 exerts improved dispersing, anti-foaming and viscosity-reducing effects, when used in small amounts in dispersing of inorganic particulates.
