There is provided a layer-built chemical cell device, which comprises: a positive electrode including a current collecting material and an active material layer; a negative electrode including another current collecting material and another active material layer; an electrolyte introduced in a sealed space formed by fixing together the positive electrode and negative electrode; a separator layer interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The active material layer of either the positive electrode or the negative electrode is formed by laminating a plurality of active material sub-layers containing one or more active materials, such an active material layer being depositted on a current collecting material so as to form either the positive electrode or the negative electrode.

Layer-built chemical cell device

There is provided a layer-built chemical cell device, comprising a positive electrode including a current collecting material and an active substance, a negative electrode including another current collecting material and another active substance, an electrolyte and a separator both interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. In such a layer-built cell device, the positive electrode and the negative electrode are in a belt-like shape, and are folded upon each other in a manner such that one electrode is always faced on both sides thereof with the other electrode, so as to form an electrode pair.

An optical recording medium is provided with: a light transmissive substrate; a recording film formed of an organic dye with 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoro-1-propanol having pH of not less than 6.0 as a solvent, on a surface of the substrate; a reflective film formed on a surface of the recording film; and a protection film formed on a surface of the reflective film.

Optical recording medium and method of manufacturing the same

An optical recording medium provided with: a light transmissive substrate; and a recording film and a reflective film which are formed on the light transmissive substrate. The recording film includes phthalocyanine dye expressed by the following general expression [I], ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represent either of hydrogen, hydroxyl group, alkoxyl group, and straight chained or side chained alkyl group, respectively, R.sub.3 to R.sub.6 represent either of substituted or non-substituted alkyl group, sulfino group, amino group, or sulfonic acid group, respectively, q represents the number of substituents and is the integer of 0 to 4, and Me represents a metal atom.

Optical recording medium

A recordable optical disk is provided with: a disk substrate having a recording surface; a track portion, which is coaxially or spirally arranged on the recording surface, and to which the information is recorded by irradiating a light beam modulated in correspondence with the information, thereonto; and an interval portion disposed on the recording surface between adjacent turns of the track portion on the recording surface. The reflection coefficient of the interval portion is higher than the reflection coefficient of the track portion.

Optical disk, method of manufacturing the same and method of recording

A recordable optical recording medium having sufficiently high reflectance and modulation factor to insure consistent reproduction on CD players. The optical recording medium of the present invention has a light-transparent substrate having pregrooves formed in the face of one surface, a light-absorbing layer formed on the pregrooves, a light-reflecting layer formed on said light-absorbing layer, wherein the pregrooves have a depth of .lambda./6.5 n-.lambda./2.5 n (where .lambda. is the wavelength of recording or reproducing light in nanometers, and n is the refractive index of the substrate) and a width of 0.35-0.47 .mu.m.

Information is optically recorded to a recordable optical disk by a light beam, and a return light is received from the recordable optical disk to produce a tracking error signal. The recordable optical disk includes: a substrate having a disk shape; a groove formed on a surface of the substrate along a predetermined track which the light beam is made to follow; and a recording layer formed on the surface of the substrate, to which the information is recorded by the light beam. A depth of the groove is prescribed such that an amount of the return light from the groove becomes smaller than an amount of the return light from the portion of the recording layer other than the groove in a condition after recording.

Recordable optical disk and method of manufacturing the same

An optical recording medium comprises a light transmissive substrate, a light absorption layer provided on the light transmissive substrate and a light reflecting layer provided on the light absorption layer. The light absorption layer contains a cyanine type dye represented by a following structural formula: ##STR1## and a quencher represented by a following general formula: ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 denote hydrogen or substituent group, respectively. A protective layer may be further provided on the light reflecting layer for protecting the same.

A recordable optical recording medium having a sufficiently high reflectance and modulation factor to comply with the CD specifications. The light-absorbing layer in the optical recording medium has a first cyanine dye having a light absorption band in the wavelength region of recording or reproducing light, and a second cyanine dye having a light absorption band in the wavelength range shorter than the first cyanine dye and having a smaller light absorption in the wavelength region of recording or reproducing light. The second cyanine dye is contained in the light-absorbing layer in an amount larger than the first cyanine dye.

A writable recording medium having reduced jitter, improved performance on repeated reproduction, improved light resistance, and sensitivity controllability is disclosed, in which a light-absorbing layer thereof contains (D-1) a cyanine dye having an absorption band in the wavelength region of light for recording or reproduction, (D-2) a cyanine dye having an absorption band in a shorter wavelength region than that of cyanine dye (D-1) and having a smaller absorption than that of cyanine dye (D-1) in the wavelength region of light for recording or reproduction, (Q-1) a quencher for preventing photo-deterioration of cyanine dyes, and (Q-2) a quencher selected from an azo compound and a diphenylamine compound, the weight ratio of cyanine dye (D-2) to cyanine dye (D-1), taken as .alpha., being from 1 to 3, the weight ratio of quencher (Q-1) to quencher (Q-2), taken as .beta., being from 0.5 to 1, the ratio of the total weight of quenchers (Q-1) and (Q-2) to the total weight of cyanine dyes (D-1) and (D-2), taken as .gamma., being from 0.25 to 0.5, and the product of .alpha. by .gamma. (.alpha..cndot..gamma.) being less than 1.1.

Recording medium

An information recording apparatus for receiving recording information and index information with respect to the recording information, and recording the recording information on a recordable disc medium, including memory device for storing the index information as first index information, first recording device for recording the recording information on the disc recording medium in accordance with the first index information, control device for producing second index information on the basis of the first information, and second recording device for recording the second index information on the disc recording medium in parallel with the recording by the first recording device.

Information recording apparatus for recordable optical disc

An optical recording medium, comprising: a light transparent substrate, a light absorbing layer disposed on the light transparent substrate, a light reflection layer disposed on the light absorbing layer, and a protection layer disposed on the light reflection layer, wherein the protection layer has been formed by curing a photo-setting resin which is capable of providing a glass transition point of not lower than 110.degree. C., a shrinkage factor of not larger than 8%, and a water vapor permeability of not higher than 110 g/m.sup.2 .multidot.24 H after being cured. The optical recording medium having the above structure is capable of showing stable performances, even in an environment of high humidity.

A write once read many type optical disc comprises a light transmissive substrate having a tracking groove formed therein, a light absorbing layer disposed on a surface of the substrate on which the tracking groove is formed, and a light reflection layer disposed on the light absorbing layer, wherein an RMI value defined by the following formula is not lower than 0.22: RMI value=(I.sub.l -I.sub.g)I.sub.o, wherein I.sub.l denotes an electric potential at a land portion, I.sub.g denotes an electric potential at a groove portion, and I.sub.o denotes an electric potential at a mirror surface portion. When the write once read many type optical disc is caused to have a structure as described above, there may be provided the write once read many type optical disc having a good playability, i.e., the optical disc wherein the TE level may be provided assuredly on the basis of a value obtained from one beam.
