A locking arm having at one end a hook portion is unitedly connected at its generally middle portion to a housing of a female terminal. The locking arm is constructed to be biased to pivot in a given direction about the unitedly connected portion so that upon coupling between the male and female terminals, the hook portion is forced to enter an opening of the male terminal permitting locking connection therebetween.

Electrical connector with terminal locking means

A terminal pin is formed at its outer surface portion with first and second lug portions which are axially extending in opposite directions, the second lug portion having at its generally middle section an outwardly projected portion. Upon insertion of the terminal pin into a through passage of the housing, the outwardly projected portion of the second lug portion is brought into engagement with an engaging section formed in the passage for projecting the first lug portion outwardly to allow the same to engage with another engaging section in the passage, so that the terminal pin is held in place in the passage.

A contact-making pin is inserted in a through hole of a housing in such a manner that at least one stud or projection formed on the pin and a step portion formed in the same are respectively engaged with an elongated notch and a resilient catch member which are provided in the through hole of the housing, the elongated notch being formed to extend from one end of the through hole to a portion near the other end of the same. Thus, the connection of the pin to the housing is tightly achieved.
