A magnetic sensor includes: a sensor chip having magnetic layers magnetically coupled to each other through a magnetic gap and a magnetic sensing element disposed on a magnetic path formed by the magnetic gap; an external magnetic member magnetically coupled to one of the magnetic layer; and a measuring current coil wound around the external magnetic member and through which a current for generating a magnetic field to be measured flows. The magnetic sensing elementand the magnetic layers are thus integrated in the sensor chip, so that the magnetic gap can be designed to be very small in width, and a leakage magnetic field can be applied in large amounts to the magnetic sensing element. Thus, even when the current I flowing in the measuring current coil is weak, a magnetic field generated by the current I can be detected with high sensitivity.

Magnetic sensor

The objective of the present invention is to provide a biomagnetism measuring device with which it is possible for a magnetic sensor to be disposed in an optimal position in accordance with an object being measured. A biomagnetism measuring device () according to the present invention is provided with: a plurality of magnetic sensors () which detect biomagnetism; and a holding portion () in which are formed frames () which detachably hold the plurality of magnetic sensors () in such a way as to face a living body. Further, the biomagnetism measuring device () according to the present invention is provided with: a plurality of magnetic sensors () which detect biomagnetism; and a holding portion () in which are formed rails () which movably hold the plurality of magnetic sensors () in such a way as to face a living body.

Biomagnetism measuring device

The present invention provides a biometric information measuring device with which a diagnostic imaging result and a biomagnetism measurement result can be superimposed simply and with satisfactory accuracy, and which is easy to handle. This biometric information measuring device () is provided with: a biomagnetism detecting unit () capable of detecting biomagnetism of a subject (S); and a radiation detecting unit () capable of acquiring an image corresponding to irradiated radiation, as digital image data, by means of the supply of a power source. The radiation detecting unit () is disposed between a measuring region of the subject (S) and the biomagnetism detecting unit (). Further, it is preferable to provide a control unit () capable of performing control such that the power source is not supplied to the radiation detecting unit () while the biomagnetism detecting unit () is detecting biomagnetism.

Biometric information measuring device

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a muscle activity measurement device and a muscle activity measurement method which make it possible to measure the muscle activity of an object to be sensed with increased accuracy. The muscle activity measurement device is provided with a magnetic sensor unit which senses a magnetic field generated from a living body. The muscle activity measurement device identifies an installed direction of the muscle activity measurement device, and includes an indication, on a surface of a container, which comprises identification information for installing the muscle activity measurement device in such a way that a magnetism sensing direction X of the magnetic sensor unit and the direction in which the muscle fibers of the living body as the object to be sensed extend are substantially orthogonal to each other.

A biomagnetism measurement device includes a tubular body, an inflatable portion inflatable upon supply of gas, and a magnetic sensor portion that detects a magnetic field from outside the tubular body. The inflatable portion is located at a required region of the tubular body, and the magnetic sensor portion is fixed to an inner wall of the inflatable portion. The tubular body and the inflatable portion include the same material, and the wall thickness of the inflatable portion is thinner than that of the tubular body.

Biomagnetism measurement device

An object of the present invention is to enhance detection accuracy of a magnetic sensor having four bridge-connected magnetic sensing elements. A magnetic sensor includes magnetic layers-provided on a surface of the sensor substrateand bridge-connected magnetic sensing elements R-R. The magnetic layerincludes a main area Mand a converging area Shaving a width gradually reduced with increasing distance from the main area M, the magnetic layerincludes a main area Mand converging areas S, Seach having a width gradually reduced with increasing distance from the main area M, and the magnetic layerincludes a main area Mand converging areas S, Seach having a width gradually reduced with increasing distance from the main area M. The end portions of the converging areas S-Sand the end portions of the converging areas S-Sface each other, respectively, through gaps G-G, respectively. According to the present invention, detection accuracy is enhanced because a magnetic flux generated by current flowing in one magnetic sensing element does not affect the other sensing element.

A highly reliable magnetic recording medium is provided which has a recording layer formed in a concavo-convex pattern and wherein the recording layer is unlikely to cause a change in magnetic properties. The magnetic recording medium includes a substrate, a recording layer formed in a predetermined concavo-convex pattern over the substrate, convex portions of the concavo-convex pattern serving as recording elements; and a filler portion filling a concave portion between the recording elements. The filler portion comprises a metal-based main filler material and oxygen. Oxygen is unevenly distributed in the filler portion so that the ratio of the number of oxygen atoms to the total of the number of atoms of the main filler material and the number of oxygen atoms is greater in an upper surface portion of the filler portion than in a lower portion of the filler portion.

A near-field light generating device includes: a base having a top surface; a waveguide that allows laser light to propagate therethrough and is disposed above the top surface of the base; and a surface plasmon generating element that is disposed above the top surface of the base so as to adjoin the waveguide in a direction parallel to the top surface of the base. The waveguide has a side surface that faces the surface plasmon generating element. The surface plasmon generating element includes: a coupling part that is opposed to a part of the side surface of the waveguide with spacing therebetween and causes excitation of a surface plasmon by coupling with evanescent light occurring from the part of the side surface; and a near-field light generating part that generates near-field light based on the surface plasmon excited at the coupling part.

A stamper manufacturing method comprises: forming a stamper body so as to have a concave/convex pattern on one surface and a crystalline structure on at least a side toward the other surface; forming a layer having an amorphous structure on the other surface side of the stamper body; and polishing a surface of the layer having the amorphous structure. A resin molded article manufacturing method includes an injection molding process using the stamper as a prototype so as to transfer the concave/convex pattern of the stamper to a resin material. A stamper comprises a stamper body which is formed so as to have a concave/convex pattern on one surface and have a crystalline structure on at least a side toward the other surface. In the stamper, a layer having an amorphous structure and a surface of which is polished is formed on the other surface side of the stamper body.

A method for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium is provided, which can manufacture a magnetic recording medium that includes a recording layer having a concavo-convex pattern and has a sufficiently flat surface. The method includes the steps of: forming an object to be processed including a recording layer having a predetermined concavo-convex pattern formed over a substrate and a first mask layer (temporary underlying material) formed at least on recording elements (convex portions) of the recording layer; depositing a filling material on the object to be processed to fill concave portions; removing a part of the filling material by dry etching to expose at least side faces of the first mask layer; and removing the first mask layer by an etching method in which an etching rate of the first mask layer is higher than that of the filling material to flatten a surface.

Method for manufacturing magnetic recording medium

A method for manufacturing magnetic recording media is provided, by which a magnetic recording medium that has a recording layer formed in a concavo-convex pattern, a sufficiently flat surface, and good recording/reproducing properties can be manufactured. The method includes the steps of: depositing a first filling material over a workpiece to cover recording elements formed as convex portions of the concavo-convex pattern, and to fill at least part of a concave portion; depositing a detection material over the first filling material; depositing a second filling material over the detection material; and irradiating a surface of the workpiece with a process gas to flatten the surface. In the flattening step, a component of the detection material removed from and flying off the workpiece is detected to stop the irradiation with the process gas based on a result of detecting the component of the detection material.

A dry etching method and the like that can process a layer to be processed in a fine pattern to have a peripheral portion of an angular shape, are described. This dry etching method forms a step portionalong a peripheral portion of a first mask layerthat corresponds to an outline of an etching pattern in such a manner that the step portionprojects toward an opposite side to a magnetic thin layer(layer to be processed).

On a magnetic recording medium, data track patterns and servo patterns are formed on one surface and another surface of a disk-shaped substrate by patterns including recording regions and non-recording regions. In the data track patterns on the one surface, the non-recording regions are formed at formation positions on the one surface corresponding to formation positions of recording regions in the data track patterns on the other surface and the recording regions are formed at formation positions on the one surface corresponding to formation positions of non-recording regions in the data track patterns on the other surface, and in the servo patterns on the one surface, the non-recording regions are formed at formation positions on the one surface corresponding to formation positions of recording regions in the servo patterns on the other surface and the recording regions are formed at formation positions on the one surface corresponding to formation positions of non-recording regions in the servo patterns on the other surface.

Magnetic recording medium, recording/reproducing apparatus, and method of manufacturing a magnetic recording medium

On a rotary-type magnetic recording medium, servo patterns are formed in servo pattern regions on one surface and the other surface of a disk-shaped substrate by patterns including recording regions and non-recording regions. In the servo pattern regions on both the one surface and the other surface, plural functional regions are defined in order in a direction of rotation of the magnetic recording medium. In the pattern formed in at least one region out of the plural functional regions on the one surface, the non-recording regions are formed at formation positions on the one surface corresponding to formation positions of the recording regions on the other surface and the recording regions are formed at formation positions on the one surface corresponding to formation positions of the non-recording regions on the other surface.
