An organic light-emitting element according to the present invention employs a polycyclic aromatic derivative compound in a light-emitting layer inside the element, and further comprises a capping layer. Thus, the organic light-emitting element can be made highly efficient and can be useful for a device selected from among a flat panel display device, a flexible display device, a monochrome or white flat panel lighting device, and a monochrome or white flexible lighting device.

Organic light-emitting element using polycyclic aromatic derivative compound

The present invention provides various organic electroluminescent elements using a material for a capping layer and a material for a luminous layer, in which the material for a capping layer uses an arylamine material that exhibit excellent stability and durability in the form of a thin film, especially a specific amine compound having a high refractive index and having a high absorbance within a wavelength range from 400 nm to 410 nm in the absorption spectrum at a concentration of 10mol/L; and in which the material for a luminous layer uses a compound containing a heterocyclic compound that has a specific fused ring structure.

Organic electroluminescent element

An object of the present invention is to provide, as a material for a highly efficient and highly durable organic EL element, an organic compound that has excellent properties, including excellent electron-injecting/transporting capability, hole-blocking capability, and high stability in the form of a thin film. Another object of the present invention is to provide a highly efficient and highly durable organic EL element by using this compound. The present invention focuses on the properties of the benzazole ring, which has affinity for electrons, and specifically focuses on the capability of its nitrogen atom to coordinate to a metal and also on excellent heat resistance. The inventors have thus designed and chemically synthesized various compounds having a benzazole ring structure, and then experimentally produced organic EL elements including the compounds, followed by thoroughly evaluating the characteristics thereof. As a result, it has been found that it is possible to obtain an organic EL element having excellent properties by using a specific compound having a benzazole ring structure.

Compound having benzazole ring structure, and organic electroluminescent device

An organic electroluminescent device having a capping layer composed of material having a high refractive index, excelling in thin film stability and durability and having no absorption in the respective wavelength ranges of blue, green, and red is provided to improve device characteristics of the organic electroluminescent device, particularly to greatly improve light extraction efficiency. The organic electroluminescent device has at least an anode electrode, a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport layer, a cathode electrode, and the capping layer in this order, wherein the capping layer contains an arylamine compound (X) having a structure in which two triphenylamine structures are joined within a molecule via a single bond or a divalent group that does not contain a heteroatom.

Organic electroluminescent device

The present disclosure is related to an organic EL element including a capping layer that contains a compound represented by formula (A-1). In the formula, A and X are monovalent groups represented by formula (B-1) having 1 binding site among Rto R. Z represents a monovalent group represented by formula (B-1) having 1 binding site among Rto R, an aromatic hydrocarbon group, an aromatic heterocyclic group or a fused polycyclic aromatic group. Ar is a single bond or a divalent group of an aromatic hydrocarbon group, an aromatic heterocyclic group, or a fused polycyclic aromatic group. Rto Rare each defined in the specification, and Q represents a nitrogen atom, an oxygen atom, or a sulfur atom.

Organic electroluminescent element and method for producing same

It is an object of the present invention to provide an organic EL element including a capping layer constituted by two layers consisting of a first capping layer and a second capping layer that has a refractive index that is higher than that of the first capping layer, in order to improve the light extraction efficiency compared with an organic EL element including a capping layer constituted by a single layer. The present invention provides an organic electroluminescent element at least including an anode, a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport layer, a cathode, and a capping layer arranged in this order, wherein the capping layer has a structure constituted by two layers consisting of a first capping layer and a second capping layer, a refractive index of the second capping layer is higher than a refractive index of the first capping layer throughout a wavelength range from 450 to 650 nm, and the second capping layer contains an arylamine compound having a specific structure.

Organic electroluminescence element

The present invention relates to an organic EL device having at least an anodic electrode, a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport layer, a cathodic electrode, and a capping layer in this order, in which the capping layer contains an amine compound having a benzazole ring structure represented by the following general formula (A-1).

According to the present invention, there is provided an organic electroluminescence element including at least an anode, a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, a light-emitting layer, an electron transport layer, and a cathode in the stated order, the organic electroluminescence element being characterized in that: the hole injection layer contains an arylamine compound represented by the following general formula (1) and an electron acceptor. The organic EL element of the present invention has a high light emission efficiency and an excellent durability, as compared with the related art, while maintaining the existing low drive voltage.

To provide an organic EL device having low driving voltage, high luminous efficiency, and particularly a long lifetime by combining various materials for an organic EL device having excellent hole and electron injection/transport performances, electron blocking ability, stability in a thin-film state, and durability as materials for an organic EL device having high luminous efficiency and high durability so as to allow the respective materials to effectively reveal their characteristics. A material for an organic electroluminescent device that is excellent in hole injection and transport abilities, electron blocking ability, stability in a thin film state, and durability is provided as a material for an organic electroluminescent device having high efficiency and high durability. Further, an organic electroluminescent device having low driving voltage, high efficiency, and a long lifetime is provided by combining the material with various materials for an organic EL device that is excellent in hole and electron injection and transport abilities, electron blocking ability, thin film stability, and durability, in such a manner that the characteristics of the materials can be effectively exhibited. An organic electroluminescent device comprising at least an anode, a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport layer, and a cathode in this order, wherein the hole transport layer comprises an arylamine compound of the following general formula (1). 

According to the present invention, there is provided an organic electroluminescent device which has an anode, a hole transport layer, a luminous layer, an electron transport layer, and a cathode arranged in order of description. The device is characterized in that: the hole transport layer includes a specific arylamine compound, and that the luminous layer includes a specific indenoindole derivative or a specific carbazole derivative. The organic EL device of the present invention has improved efficiency of hole transport from the hole transport layer to the luminous layer and also improved efficiency of electron transport from the electron transport layer to the luminous layer, in comparison to conventional organic EL devices.

Organic electroluminescence device

In the organic electroluminescent device having at least an anode, a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport layer and a cathode in this order, the hole injection layer includes an arylamine compound of the following general formula (1) and an electron acceptor. In the formula, Arto Armay be the same or different, and represent a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group, or a substituted or unsubstituted condensed polycyclic aromatic group.

To provide an organic EL device having (1) high luminous efficiency and high power efficiency, (2) low turn on voltage, (3) low actual driving voltage, and (4) a long lifetime, by combining various materials for an organic EL device, which are excellent in hole injection/transport performances, electron injection/transport performances, electron blocking ability, stability in a thin-film state, and durability, so as to allow the respective materials to effectively reveal their characteristics. In the organic EL device having at least an anode, a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport layer and a cathode in this order, the hole transport layer includes an arylamine compound of the following general formula (1), and the electron transport layer includes a compound of the following general formula (2) having a benzazole ring structure. 

Object To provide an organic electroluminescence device including, in order to improve the device characteristics of the organic electroluminescence device, particularly, to absorb light having the wavelengths of from 400 nm to 410 nm from sunlight, not to affect a material inside the device, and to significantly improve the light extraction efficiency, a capping layer formed of a material that has a high absorption coefficient, a high refractive index, and an excellent stability, durability, and light resistance of a thin film, and does not absorb light in the blue, green, and red wavelength range. Solving Means An organic electroluminescence device including at least an anode electrode, a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport layer, a cathode electrode, and a capping layer in the stated order, in which the capping layer includes a material having an extinction coefficient of not less than 0.3 at wavelengths of from 400 nm to 410 nm and an absorbance of not less than 0.2 at wavelengths of from 400 nm to 410 nm in an absorption spectrum of a concentration of 10mol/l.
