In an optoelectrical connector including two connectors to be interconnected, each having at least one optical connection part and at least two electrical connection parts, the electrical connection parts of one of the connectors are pins and the electrical connection parts of the other connector are spring contacts. The connector having the spring contacts includes, before the spring contacts, positioning holes in which the pins are to be inserted. The tips of the pins come into contact with the spring contacts to make electrical connection. The bases of the pins fit in the positioning holes to perform positioning for optical connection. The optoelectrical connector can be smaller, lighter, and thinner.

Optoelectrical connector and portable electronic device

An optical module is formed of a first optical block and a second optical block each equipped with a lens the optical axis of which needs to be aligned, the blocks being positioned and secured to each other, and has stepwise positioning means. A positioning means includes spring pieces each having an abutting slope, and edges. Four spring pieces are formed in the second optical block such that their abutting slopes are disposed at four corners of the second optical block. Positioning is implemented when the abutting slopes meet the edges of the first optical block. Another positioning means includes a depressed part and a guide slope formed in one of the two optical blocks and a raised part formed in the other optical block. The raised part is fitted into the depressed part.

Optical module

A differential signal connector includes a plurality of pairs of signal contacts, a plurality of ground contacts, and an insulating housing holding the signal contacts and the ground contacts. On a first connection side for connection to a connection partner, the ground contacts are arranged on both sides of each pair of signal contacts so that a contact array of a fixed pitch is formed. On a second connection side for connection to a board, the ground contacts are arranged spaced apart from each other in a first row, while the pairs of signal contacts, which are adjacently arranged on both sides of the ground contact on the first connection side, are arranged so as to be allocated in a second row and a third row located on both sides of the first row so that the pairs of signal contacts are arranged zigzag on the second connection side.

Differential signal connector capable of reducing skew between a differential signal pair

Preparation is made of first and second contact assemblies in each of which ends of a plurality of contacts are respectively coupled to a plurality of coupling portions of a carrier. The coupling portions of at least one of the first and second contact assemblies are bent so as to offset the contacts in a thickness direction of the carrier. Then, the first and second contact assemblies are combined together in a state where the carriers overlap each other and the contacts are aligned with and spaced apart from each other in the same plane. After integrating the contacts, the coupling portions are cut off. Then, the integrated contacts are collectively inserted into a shell.

Methods of manufacturing a connector component having a narrow-pitch connector group

A connector has a plurality of high-speed differential signal lanes each of which includes two first contacts for high-speed differential signal transmission and two ground contacts. A second contact which does not belong to the high-speed differential signal lanes is arranged between the high-speed differential signal lanes. On a first connection side for connection with a connecting object, contacting portions of the contacts are arranged in a single row at a distance from one another. On a second connection side for connection with a mounting object, terminal portions of the first contacts and terminal portions of the ground contacts are arranged in a first row at a distance wider than that between the contacting portions while a terminal portion of the second contact is arranged in a second row.

Connector and signal transmission method using the same

A receptacle of an electrical-optical hybrid connector including a plug having an insertion fitting part and the receptacle having a housing space that receives the insertion fitting part includes an optical connection part disposed in a space in communication with the housing space, and an electrical connection part disposed in front of the optical connection part, a shutter that is opened when the receptacle and the plug are connected to each other is provided in front of the optical connection part of the receptacle, and the optical connection part of the receptacle moves forward in association with the shutter when the shutter is opened, and moves rearward in association with the shutter when the shutter is closed.

Electrical-optical hybrid connector and receptacle thereof

A differential signal connector includes a plurality of pairs of signal contacts, a plurality of ground contacts, and an insulating housing holding the signal contacts and the ground contacts. On a first connection side for connection to a connection partner, the ground contacts are arranged on both sides of each pair of signal contacts so that a contact array of a fixed pitch is formed. An optical coupling structure of the present invention is configured with a lens body and a clamp. The lens body includes a lens section having the lens and a fixing section. The clamp includes a positioning section, a pressing spring, and a retaining section. The positioning section determines a position of the clamp except a position in a direction of the optical axis of the optical fiber. The pressing spring makes contact with a surface of the lens body having a normal direction matching with the end face of the optical fiber, and generates a returning force when the clamp moves in a direction opposite to the normal direction of the surface. The retaining section is formed in a portion of the clamp to press the optical fiber and retains the optical fiber not to move in a direction apart from the lens.

Electrical connector

In an optoelectrical connector that is composed of a plug including an insertion fitting part and a receptacle including a housing space into which the insertion fitting part of the plug is inserted, the plug is provided with an optical connection part on a front end of the insertion fitting part and an electric connection part more rearward than the optical connection part. The receptacle is provided with an optical connection part on the deep side of the housing space and an electric connection part more frontward than the optical connection part. A shutter is formed on the immediate front of the optical connection part of the receptacle and the shutter opens in the optical connection. Deterioration of optical coupling efficiency caused by attachment of metal abrasion powder, which is generated in a slide between the electrical connection parts in the electrical connection, to the optical connection parts, is prevented.

Optoelectrical connector

By using a lead frame as an intermediate member, a contact group of a connector is manufactured. The lead frame includes a plurality of first leads arranged on a plane and spaced from one another, a plurality of pairs of second leads, each pair being arranged on the plane between the first leads, and a connecting portion connecting the first and the second leads on one end side. The second leads have a pitch which is greater on the other end side than that on the one end side to make the second leads approach the first leads on the other end side, respectively. The lead frame further includes bridge portions connecting approached ones of the first and the second leads to each other at a portion where an interval between the first and the second leads is reduced.

Lead frame, method of manufacturing a contact group, and connector

A connector is matable with a mating connector. The connector has a contact, a housing, a sliding shell, at least one engagement portion and at least one disengagement portion. The housing holds the contact. The sliding shell covers, at least in part, the contact and the housing. The sliding shell is held on the housing so as to be movable between a mating position and a protective position. The connector is mated with the mating connector when the sliding shell is positioned at the mating position. The sliding shell is laid, at least in part, beyond a front end of the housing when the sliding shell is positioned at the protective position. The at least one engagement portion is configured to engage with the sliding shell located at the protective position so as to prevent the sliding shell from moving toward the mating position. The at least one disengagement portion is configured to disengage the engagement portion from the sliding shell when the at least one disengagement portion is brought into contact with the mating connector upon a mating process between the connector and the mating connector.
