Reinforcing fibers containing hydrophilic fibers and an adhesive component, wherein at least a part of the surfaces of the hydrophilic fibers have the adhesive component, the adhesive component contains a modified conjugated diene rubber having a hydrogen-bonding functional group in a part of the conjugated diene rubber, and the number of the hydrogen-bonding functional groups in the modified conjugated diene rubber is 2 to 150 per molecule on average; a method for producing the reinforcing fibers; and a molded article using the reinforcing fibers.

Reinforcing fibers and production method therefor, and molded article using same

To provide surface-modified fibers and reinforcing fibers that are capable of enhancing the adhesiveness to rubber, without the use of resorcinol and formaldehyde, and a molded article using the same. Surface-modified fibers include fibers, and a surface-modifying layer covering at least a part of a surface of the fibers, and have a solid surface zeta potential on a surface of the surface-modifying layer of −20.0 to 30.0 mV.

Provided is a double rope structure which is provided with an inner core and an outer cover. In the double rope structure, the inner core includes high strength and high modulus fibers with a yarn tenacity of 20 cN/dtex or higher and a yarn elastic modulus of 400 cN/dtex or higher, and has a ratio of yarn length/rope length of 1.005 or more and 1.200 or less, the rope length being determined as a length of a cut section (V) cut to a certain length from the rope structure, and the yarn length being determined as an average value of lengths of yarns constituting the inner core of the cut section (V).

Provided are reinforcing fibers using an adhesive component not containing resorcinol and formaldehyde, which are excellent in adhesiveness to rubber and which can be efficiently produced while preventing contamination of production facilities, and a method for producing them, as well as a molded article using them. The reinforcing fibers have an adhesive component that contains a conjugated diene rubber and an oil, in at least a part of the surfaces thereof, wherein the vapor pressure at 20° C. of the oil is 10 Pa or less.

The suede artificial leather of the present invention comprises a three-dimensional entangled body comprising a superfine fiber having a fineness of 0.2 dtex or less and an elastomeric polymer A, and satisfies the requirements (1) to (4) as specified in the specification. By meeting the requirements, the suede artificial leather acquires excellent color fastness to light and color development in a wide range of colors and a high quality with good suede feeling, surface touch, hand, mechanical properties and color fastness.
