An object of the present invention is to provide a polymer compound in which, by blending with a liquid crystal composition containing a liquid crystalline compound, alignment of the liquid crystalline compound in a phase difference layer to be obtained increases; and a liquid crystal composition, a phase difference layer, an optical film, a polarizing plate, and an image display device using the same. The polymer compound of the present invention is a polymer compound including a repeating unit represented by Formula (I), a repeating unit represented by Formula (II), a repeating unit represented by Formula (III), and a repeating unit represented by Formula (IV).

An optical film suppresses at any azimuthal angle where the optical film is combined with a polarizer and applied as a circularly polarizing plate to a display device; a circularly polarizing plate; and a display device. The optical film includes a first, a second, and a third optically anisotropic layer in this order, in which the first layer is formed by fixing a vertically aligned disk-like liquid crystal compound or formed by fixing a horizontally aligned rod-like liquid crystal compound, the second layer is formed by fixing a rod-like liquid crystal compound twist-aligned along a helical axis extending in a thickness direction, the third layer is formed by fixing a vertically aligned rod-like liquid crystal compound, and at least one of the first, second, or third layers is formed of a liquid crystal compound containing a reverse wavelength dispersion liquid crystal compound.

Optical film, circularly polarizing plate, and display device

An object of the present invention is to provide a polymer compound which can form a phase difference layer having high alignment and suppressed surface unevenness by being blended into a liquid crystal composition, and a liquid crystal composition, a phase difference layer, an optical film, a polarizing plate, and an image display device using the same. The polymer compound of the present invention includes a repeating unit represented by Formula (I), a repeating unit represented by Formula (II), and a repeating unit represented by Formula (III), in which an acid value is 115 mgKOH/g or more, and a hydroxyl value is 70 mgKOH/g or more. 

A peelable laminated film in which a substrate film containing a polyester resin and a light transmitting film containing a resin having a glass transition temperature of higher than 80&#xb0; C. and an aromatic ester compound are laminated, and a method for producing a polarizing plate which contains bonding a surface of the light transmitting film of the peelable laminated film to a polarizer through an adhesive, the surface being opposite to an interface of the light transmitting film to the substrate film, and then peeling off the substrate film to obtain a polarizing plate having the polarizer and the light transmitting film are provided.
