A printer has a roll of a paper and a cutter. The cutter includes a stationary blade provided and a movable blade. The movable blade is movable in an up-down direction with respect to the stationary blade between a first position and a second position. The stationary-side cutting tooth is located at a position higher than a guide surface. The movable-side cutting tooth is located, with respect to the guide surface, at a lower position when the movable blade is located at the first position, at a higher position when located at the second position, and at a third position, which is between the first and second positions, when the roll is attached to an accommodating part of the printer. When located at the third position, at least a part of the movable-side cutting tooth is located at a higher position than the lower end of the guide surface.

A printing apparatus includes: a conveyor that conveys a medium including a base layer and a separation layer and including a first region, a second region, and a third region; a printer; and a controller. The controller is configured to control the printer to print a first mark on a portion of the medium in one of the first region and a first-region-side portion of the second region and to print a second mark on a portion of the medium in one of the third region and a third-region-side portion of the second region such that the first mark and the second mark are arranged in a line in the first direction.

The disclosure discloses a portable printer including a printer main body and an attaching adapter. The printer main body includes a platen roller, a thermal line head, and a housing. The platen roller is configured to feed a sheet to be printed. The thermal line head is configured to form print on the sheet to be printed fed by the platen roller. The housing encompasses the platen roller and the thermal line head and includes an attachment/detachment recess configured to attach or detach a battery unit for driving the platen roller and the thermal line head. The attaching adapter has an outer shape substantially the same as an outer shape of the battery unit, is configured to be attached to the attachment/detachment recess of the printer main body, and includes an attachment portion for attaching the printer main body to an attachment target.

The disclosure discloses a printer including a load circuit, a controller, a power receiving terminal, a first switching circuit, and a second switching circuit. The controller is configured to control voltage supply to the load circuit, and is connected to an input part. The power receiving terminal is configured to be connected to a power feeding terminal of an external power source device. The first switching circuit includes a first switch element configured to switch between conduction and interruption in accordance with a first control signal input from the controller, and is connected between the power receiving terminal and the input part. The second switching circuit includes a second switch element configured to switch between conduction and interruption in accordance with a second control signal input from the controller, and is connected between the battery storage part and the input part.

Printer

A printer includes a casing in which a confronting portion is provided between a platen roller and a thermal line head. The casing has an opening. A guide member provides an inlet passage in the casing and includes a plurality of ribs and a flat surface portion. The ribs are spaced away from each other in a widthwise direction of a sheet. The ribs are in contact with the sheet to guide the sheet. The flat surface portion is positioned at a portion other than the plurality of ribs. An optical sensor is provided to optically detect the sheet. A light shielding member is provided in the casing and protrudes toward the inlet passage at a position closer to the opening than the optical sensor to the opening. The light shielding member has a protruding end in intimate contact with the flat surface portion.
