An end part structure for an optical connector includes a ferrule having a connection end face and a fiber hole into which an optical fiber is inserted up to the connection end face, a spring disposed at a rear side of the ferrule in a longitudinal direction of the fiber hole, a spring push that surrounds the optical fiber, a housing that accommodates the ferrule and the spring and to which the spring push is locked such that the ferrule is biased forward by the spring, a braided tube mounted on the spring push, and a fixing member that fixes the braided tube to the spring push. The spring is sandwiched between the spring push and the ferrule in the longitudinal direction.

End part structure for optical connectors

A cable includes: a cable main body; a first adhesive layer in contact with an outer peripheral surface of the cable main body; a protective member that covers an end part of the cable main body; an outer peripheral member that covers a part of the protective member; and a second adhesive layer on an inner peripheral surface of the outer peripheral member and in contact with the protective member. Adhesive strength of the second adhesive layer is larger than adhesive strength of the first adhesive layer.

An optical connector includes: an optical fiber; a ferrule with an insertion hole that accommodates the optical fiber; a housing that accommodates the ferrule and that includes two lock holes formed therein; two springs that sandwich the optical fiber therebetween, and that bias the ferrule in a forward direction of the optical connector; and a support portion that supports the two springs from a rear direction of the optical connector. The support portion includes a first divided member that is combined with a second divided member and two latch portions locked in the two lock holes. When the insertion hole extends is the front and the rear directions, the two springs are disposed along left and right directions of the optical connector, and a vertical direction is orthogonal to the front, rear, right, and left directions, the two latch portions are disposed side by side in the vertical direction.

Optical connector

An optical connector includes optical fibers, a ferrule, and a pitch fixing member. The optical fibers have bare parts where coating parts have been stripped off. The ferrule has insertion holes, and the bare parts are inserted into the insertion holes. The pitch fixing member is inserted into the ferrule and has fixing parts that fix a pitch of the coating parts of the optical fibers to a pitch of the insertion holes.

A method of manufacturing an optical fiber assembly into which optical fibers are integrated includes: preparing an alignment member having through holes with a pitch that is greater than a coating diameter of the optical fibers; inserting each of the optical fibers into one of the through holes; after the inserting of the optical fibers into the through holes, holding the optical fibers on both sides of the alignment member by a pair of grippers; after the inserting of the optical fibers into the through holes, connecting at least adjacent ones of the optical fibers by disposing an adhesive material on at least one side of the alignment member; and forming an optical fiber assembly by curing the adhesive material in a state in which the optical fibers held by the grippers are stretched along an optical axis.

Method of manufacturing optical fiber assembly

An optical fiber cable includes: an optical fiber; a sheath that accommodates the optical fiber; a tension member that extends from an end portion of the sheath; a housing disposed at an end portion of the tension member; and an anchor portion disposed on the tension member. The anchor portion increases a projected area of the tension member when viewed from a longitudinal direction of the optical fiber cable, the anchor portion is inside the housing, and the housing is filled with a filler that fixes the anchor potion to the housing.

Optical fiber cable and method of manufacturing optical fiber cable

An optical connector includes: a housing that retractably accommodates a ferrule; a spring that is accommodated in the housing to press the ferrule to a front side; and an engaging member connected to one end of the spring, fixed to the housing by engaging with the housing, and including a pair of arm parts arranged to sandwich the spring. When a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the spring presses the ferrule and to a direction in which the pair of arm parts is lined up is an up-down direction, window parts are arranged on both sides in the up-down direction of the housing. The engaging member includes: claw parts that are provided on an upper and a lower side of the pair of arm parts to engage with the window parts; and deformation parts that allow the claw parts to be displaced in the up-down direction.

An optical connector includes: a ferrule including a guide pin hole, a plurality of fiber holes lined up in a width direction of the optical fiber, and an inclined end face; a housing in which the ferrule is retractably housed; and an application part that applies an upward force to the ferrule in an upward/downward direction when the optical connector connects with a counterpart connector in a connecting/disconnecting direction. The upward/downward direction is a height direction of the optical connector and is orthogonal to both the connecting/disconnecting direction and the width direction. The inclined end face projects upward toward the counterpart connector.

Optical connector and method for connecting optical connector

An optical fiber array includes: optical fibers that each include a fusion part; and a substrate on which fiber grooves are formed along a longitudinal direction of the optical fibers. The optical fibers are aligned in a width direction of the optical fibers. The fiber grooves are aligned in the width direction. The fusion parts are disposed on the substrate. The fusion parts of two adjacent optical fibers are disposed in different positions from each other in the longitudinal direction.

Optical fiber array, fiber fixing substrate, and method for manufacturing optical fiber array

Disclosed in an optical connector component including: a housing that accommodates an end portion of an optical transmission line; a shutter having a reflecting portion that reflects an optical signal outputted from the optical transmission line and being able to open and close inside the housing; and a light-absorbing member that is heat resistant compared to the housing and is irradiated the optical signal reflected by the reflecting portion.

Optical connector component

An optical connector of the disclosure includes: an optical connector body including a housing that houses a ferrule, and a coupling that is movable relative to the housing, the optical connector body being employed to release a latched state by moving the coupling rearward relative to the housing; and a pull member including a pull operation part that is located rearward of the coupling. The pull member includes a pair of side plate parts to be respectively arranged along the side surfaces of the coupling. Each side plate part includes an inner projection that projects inward from an inner surface. The coupling includes a recessed engagement part. The inner projection of the pull member engages with the engagement part of the coupling. When the pull operation part of the pull member is pulled rearward, the coupling is moved rearward relative to the housing by the inner projection of the pull member.

A plug-side optical connector, including: a plug-side coupling mechanism and a ferrule. The plug-side coupling mechanism is to be coupled to a coupling mechanism of another optical connector, the other optical connector being on receptacle side and being for being coupled with the plug-side optical connector. The plug-side coupling mechanism includes: a reference section to which the coupling mechanism of the other receptacle-side optical connector is to be hooked; and an inserted section that is to be inserted into a cylindrical main body of the coupling mechanism on the receptacle side. The ferrule is accommodated inside the inserted section. When a direction in which the optical connector is attached or detached is defined as a front-rear direction and a side of the receptacle-side optical connector is defined as front, a distance in the front-rear direction from the reference section to a front edge of the inserted section is 7.0 mm or more.

An optical connector, including: a coupling device that is made of metal, and that is to be coupled to a coupling mechanism of another optical connector that is to be coupled with the optical connector; a ferrule; a housing that is made of resin and that is accommodated by the coupling device while accommodating the ferrule in such a manner that the ferrule can move rearward; and a metal member that is affixed to the coupling device while holding the housing between the metal member and the coupling device.
