A secondary battery electrode includes a base material and a material mixture layer made of an electrode material mixture containing an active material and a binder. The material mixture layer has a multilayer structure of at least two or more layers stacked on the base material. In the multilayer structure of the material mixture layer, a first material mixture layer stacked on a surface of the base material has a higher contained binder concentration than those of other material mixture layers. The thickness of the first material mixture layer is preferably equal to or less than the total thickness of the other material mixture layers.
