In the method, in response to the first terminal device having an upgrade version, a second terminal device and a target version corresponding to the second terminal device may be determined based on attribute information of the upgrade version, and a current version corresponding to the second terminal device may be obtained. Remark information of the second terminal device may be generated based on the target version and the current version that correspond to the second terminal device, and upgrade prompt information of the first terminal device may be generated based on the attribute information of the upgrade version and the remark information of the second terminal device, to perform an upgrade prompt operation on the first terminal device.
