The invention relates to a user equipment of device-to-device communications and a resource selection method thereof. The user equipment includes a resource selection device and a transceiver device. The resource selection device is configured to create a state machine model, which includes an in-coverage state and an out-of-coverage state corresponding to a base station. The resource selection device is also configured to select a corresponding device-to-device communication resource in response to a current state of the user equipment during transferring of the user equipment from the in-coverage state to the out-of-coverage state or from the out-of-coverage state to the in-coverage state. The transceiver device is configured to perform a device-to-device communication with another user equipment according to the corresponding device-to-device communication resource. The resource selection method includes the steps corresponding to the operations of the user equipment.

A direct communication network system and a signal synchronization method thereof are provided. The direct communication network system includes a first direct communication apparatus and a second direct communication apparatus. The first direct communication apparatus synchronizes with a base station within communication coverage of the base station. The second direct communication apparatus synchronizes with the first direct communication apparatus outside the communication coverage of the base station according to at least one first synchronization signal of the first direct communication apparatus. The first direct communication apparatus determines an abnormal synchronization status with the base station, and adjusts a transmitting status of the at least one first synchronization signal. The second direct communication apparatus switches synchronization to a third direct communication apparatus according to the transmitting status of the at least one first synchronization signal and synchronizes with the third direct communication apparatus via at least one second synchronization signal.

A user equipment, a small cell and an operation method thereof are provided. The small cell includes a processor and a transceiver. The processor is configured to generate a maintaining downlink signal when the small cell is in an off-state. The maintaining downlink signal utilizes fewer radio resources compared to a normal downlink signal which is generated when the small cell is in an on-state. The transceiver is electrically connected to the processor and configured to continuously transmit the maintaining downlink signal when the small cell is in the off-state and receive an uplink signal from the user equipment. The processor further switches the small cell from the off-state to the on-state according to the uplink signal.

When the D2D UE operates as a transmitting end, it is able to determine a transmission mode according to a transmission condition (e.g., whether a radio link failure or a collision occurs when a D2D transmission is being performed, or whether the telecommunication operators of the transmitting end and the corresponding receiving end are the same). When the D2D UE operates as a receiving end, it is able to transmit a report message carrying received signal quality to the base station after receiving D2D data. Accordingly, the base station is able to adjust a D2D resource configuration according to the report message.

A direct communication network system for resource synchronization communication is provided. The direct communication network system includes a base station and a first user equipment. The base station broadcasts a pre-authorized setting. The first user equipment receives the pre-authorized setting and listens to a first resource synchronization message broadcasted from the base station according to the pre-authorized setting. The first user equipment directly communicates with a second user equipment according to the first resource synchronization message.

A device to device (D2D) user equipment (UE) used for a wireless communication system is provided. The D2D UE is located in a network topology including a plurality of transmitting ends and a plurality of receiving ends. The D2D UE may be a transmitting end or a receiving end. The receiving ends perform a resource scheduling procedure several times according to transmitting end sequences echoed from the transmitting ends to schedule the appropriate resources for the transmitting ends so as to prevent a transmission collision.

A wireless communication system and a resource allocation method thereof are provided. The wireless communication system includes a base station and a plurality of user equipments.
