A power connector () has a mating plug () having an internal printed circuit board () and a light-emitting component () mounted to the internal printed circuit board, a cable () connecting with the internal printed circuit board and provided with a connecting section (), a guiding pipe () enclosing the connecting section of the cable to transmitting the light from the light-emitting component, and a tube () made from insulative material and enclosing the cable by injection molding. The guiding pipe has a recess () defined thereon to receive a block member () to prevent the insulative material from reaching the internal printed circuit board when the tube is injection molded over the cable.

Power connector and a method of assembling the power connector

An electrical connector () includes an insulative housing () for receiving a number of contacts (), and a metal shield () enclosing the insulative housing (). The insulative housing has a rear portion () and a pair of arms () integrally extending from lateral sides of the rear portion with a receiving space () formed therebetween. The rear portion comprises a pair of upper and lower tongue plates () extending forwardly into the receiving space with a mating slot () formed therebetween. Each contact () has a contact portion () extending into the mating slot for electrically connecting with a plug. The metal shield () includes a top wall, an opposite bottom wall and a pair of side walls substantially engaging with the pair of arms, wherein the top and bottom walls restrict upper and lower positions of the receiving space (), respectively.

Electrical connector with reliable mating frame mating with another connector

An electrical connector () includes an insulative housing () for receiving a number of contacts (), and a metal shield () enclosing the insulative housing (). The insulative housing has a rear portion () and a pair of side portions () extending from the rear portion with a receiving space () formed therebetween. The rear portion comprises a pair of upper and lower tongue plates () extending forwardly into the receiving space with a mating slot () formed therebetween. The upper and lower tongue plates respectively define a plurality of parallel passageways (). Each contact has a body portion () retained in the rear portion, and an upper and a lower section () received in the passageways. The upper section () has a contact portion () extending into the mating slot for electrically connecting with a plug.
