Systems, methods and computer readable media for live interactions in persistent conversations are described. In some implementations, a method can include receiving a communication message sent from a first user to a second user, wherein the communication message includes initiation of a live interaction. The method can also include generating a live interaction user interface element for display as part of a persistent conversation interface. The method can further include storing a representation of the live interaction in a conversation content section of a persistent conversation object when the live interaction ends. The method can include updating conversation state information of the persistent conversation object to reflect the receiving of the communication message and the storing of the representation.

Live interaction in persistent conversations

A system and method for facilitating execution of multiple assemblies in a framework, in which the assemblies use a component external to the framework, is provided. A runtime manager may retrieve metadata from each of the assemblies, and selectively insert the metadata into a unified types object, so that metadata corresponding to equivalent type definitions is shared. When each assembly is executed, the combined metadata may be used to invoke or otherwise interact with the external component.

Implementations of the present disclosure provide systems and methods for seamlessly transferring a communication session from a first client to a second client via a close-range communication connection. Implementations contemplate serializing a set of unique identifiers pertaining to a communication session and transmitting the set of serialized identifiers from the first client to the second client via a close-range communication connection. The second client de-serializes the set of unique identifiers and transmits a request to a communication session server to assume control of the communication session from the first client. A communication session server may perform an authentication of the second client that requires the second client to provide credentials associated with a user account. In some implementations, the present disclosure provides for the creation of a temporary use token that enables a client to temporarily acquire credentials associated with a user account.

Various technologies and techniques are disclosed that use code access security for providing runtime accessibility checks. A request is received from a first program to access at least one private member of a second program at runtime. If the first program has a greater than or equal security context than the second program, then the first program is granted access to the at least one private member of the second program. This code access security check can be provided in a framework environment that is responsible for managing programs that are from unknown or untrusted sources.

A call stack includes at least one frame of managed code and at least one frame of unmanaged code. In a multithreaded environment, a request from a diagnostic tool to a tracing function for the call stack is made on a thread that is not associated with the call stack. The tracing function preserves a context for a thread associated with the call stack until the call stack tracing function ends. In a particular embodiment, a method grants access to a stackwalking function, such that when a point on the call stack is designated in a request for the stackwalking function, the stackwalking function commences at the point on the call stack. When no point on the call stack is designated in the request for the stackwalking function, a default position on the call stack is determined based on a last managed frame pushed onto the call stack and the stackwalking function commences at the default position on the call stack.

Example embodiments provide for effectively executing a stack-walk and other operations by dynamically accessing information about the expected location of cookies on a stack. For example, a first function is executed that causes a stack-walk operation to occur. While performing the stack-walk operation, cookie location information for a cookie placed on the stack by a second function different from the first function is accessed. The cookie, if uncorrupted, includes a known value that is used to determine if the stack has been corrupted. Based on the cookie location information, corrupt data representative of the cookie is accessed. A global cookie, which also includes the known value, is also accessed. The known value of the global cookie is then compared with the corrupt data to determine that the stack is corrupted at least up to the location of the corrupt data representative of the cookie.
