The present technology provides a curable silicone-based composition comprising a hybrid silicone polymer, a catalyst, and a filler. The present technology provides a curable silicone composition comprising a polymer A comprising an organic molecule or a siloxane molecule comprising an alkoxy radical, a hydroxyl radical, an isocyanate radical, a primary amine, or a carboxylic radical; optionally a polymer B comprising an organic molecule, a siloxane molecule, or a hybrid-siloxane molecule; a catalyst; and a filler.

Curable silicone-based compositions and applications thereof

A curable composition comprising a polymer A, a polymer B, and one or more fillers, wherein the polymer A includes organic molecules or siloxane molecules comprising two or more epoxy functional groups, and the polymer B includes an organic amine or a hybrid silicone amine.

A hydrophilic silicone, compositions comprising the same, and articles comprising the same are shown and described herein. The hydrophilic silicone is an ionically modified silicone compound wherein the compound comprises a zwitterionic moiety and has a net neutral charge. The hydrophilic silicone compounds may be provided as part of a composition, e.g., a composition suitable for forming a hydrogel, which may be employed to form a film material and even an article (e.g., in a contact lens).

Ionically modified silicones, compositions, and medical devices formed therefrom

A hydrophilic silicone, compositions comprising the same, and articles comprising the same are shown and described herein. The hydrophilic silicone is an ionically modified silicone compound wherein the compound has a net neutral charge. The hydrophilic silicone compounds may be provided as part of a composition, e.g., a composition suitable for forming a hydrogel, which may be employed to form a film material and even an article (e.g., in a contact lens).

A hydrophilic siloxane copolymer of siloxane and hydrophilic organic monomer/s The copolymers can be functionalized to make them capable of undergoing further polymerization by thermal or actinic radiations. The hydrophilicity of these polymers can be varied by varying the siloxane versus organic monomer ratio thereby going from water dispersible to soluble states. The siloxane content can be tuned accordingly in order to provide moderate to high oxygen permeability. These copolymers can be used as a single component curable composition which results in hydrogels to minimize the presence of leachable components thus by reducing the processing cost. The polymers may also find applications in personal care formulations as copolymers, film-formers, hydrogels, coating, emulsions/latex etc.

Silicone-based hydrophilic copolymer and hydrogel compositions comprising the same

A composition, suitable for use in producing hydrogel polymer films from which biomedical devices such as contact lenses can be made, comprising at least one hydrophilic silicone macromer. In one aspect, a hydrophilic silicone macromer is of the Formula 1:X&#x2014;Si(R)(R)O&#x2014;(Si(R)(R)O)&#x2014;Si(R)(R)&#x2014;Y&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)wherein R, R, RR, Rand Rare independently selected from a monovalent linear, branched, or cyclic radical with 1 to 50 carbon atoms, that can optionally contain a heteroatom or I; I is R&#x2014;R; Y is a free radical polymerization-effective hydrophilic group with the general structure: R&#x2014;R&#x2014;Z; Ris a linking residue from a non-isomerizable hydrosilylation effective terminal olefin comprising the general structure &#x2014;CH&#x2014;C(RR)&#x2014;(CRR), the subscript n is selected from integers from 1 to 10; R, R, and Rcan be selected from hydrogen and a mono-valent hydrocarbon radical with 1 to 10 carbon atoms that optionally contain a heteroatom; Ris selected from a monovalent hydrocarbon radical with 1 to 6 carbon atoms; Ris a spacer group comprising a diavelant hydrophilic organic radical with 0 to 100 carbon atoms and optionally contains heteroatoms, and X is a free radical polymerizable group. The said composition can be polymers and films suitable for use in making contact lenses.

Hydrophilic macromers and hydrogels comprising the same

A linear silicone polymer suitable for use in producing homopolymers, copolymers, polymerized emulsions, latex compositions, and hydrogel polymer films. In one aspect, a hydrophilic silicone monomer is of the Formula 1:WABW&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)Where, A is a divalent block comprising a silicone-containing pendant group. In one embodiment, the silicone-containing pendant group comprises polyalkylene oxide groups. The structure of the polymer can be controlled and tuned to provide a material with excellent wettability and oxygen permeability. The polymers are suitable for use in a variety of applications including in providing a film for forming contact lenses.

The present invention relates to a fast curing compositions comprising a (meth)acrylamide functionalized hydrophilic silicone monomers having a polyether moiety containing a branched linking group. In one embodiment, such compositions are useful for preparing water-absorbing silicone-hydrogel films for contact lens applications. In one embodiment, the (meth)acrylamide monomers disclosed here have a branched linking group on the polyether moiety which makes it possible to produce hydrophilic polyether modified silicone copolymers without the need to separate various by-products including, but not limited to, unreacted, isomerized polyether and associated high molecular weight by-products.

Hydrophilic silicone monomers, process for preparation thereof and thin films containing the same

There is provided a fast curing composition comprising an alpha, beta-unsaturated amido-containing organosilicon compound, useful in making water absorbing silicone-hydrogel films for biomedical devices, such as contact lens, and a process for producing these monomers. This invention also provides for hydrogels made from the alpha, beta-unsaturated amido-containing organosilicon compound described herein.

Polymerizable amido-containing organosilicon compounds, silicon-containing polymers and biomedical devices therefrom

A composition comprising a carbocyclic group and a hydrophilic moiety attached thereto an alpha, beta-unsaturated organosilicon compound. Such compounds are useful in developing water absorbing silicone-hydrogel films. Silicone-hydrogel films provide increased oxygen to pass through a lens or other treated materials.
