An improved diaphragm is disclosed which partitions the interior of a shell of a brake booster into a constant pressure chamber and a variable pressure chamber. The diaphragm includes a bead which extends around its inner periphery, and which is formed with a lip extending from the side of the constant pressure chamber to the side of the variable pressure chamber. The lip is held in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of a valve body. The lip is capable of an elastic deformation in a flexible manner, whereby a good seal against the outer peripheral surface of the valve body is maintained.

Brake booster

An air bleeder is disclosed for a fluid system such as a braking liquid pressure control valve which operates to reduce a braking liquid pressure supplied to a rear wheel cylinder at a given proportion to a braking liquid pressure supplied to a front wheel cylinder as a braking liquid pressure is supplied from a master cylinder. An air bleeder is disposed for use with such a fluid system, in particular, with a fluid system in which a plunger is slidably received in a bore formed in a housing in which a plate is fitted to serve as a stop member and an end of the plunger is maintained in abutment against the plate when it is inoperative. A space which is defined between the periphery of the plunger in the region of its end and the internal surface of the bore and which communicates with a fluid passage extending through the plunger and the plate is sealed against an exterior by a seal member. The air bleeder comprises an air bleeding path formed in the plate so as to extend across the area of contact between the plate and the plunger to maintain the space in communication with the fluid passage. In this manner, a satisfactory air bleeding from the space is assured.

The present invention relates to a fluid reservoir unit designed for reserving a liquid such as brake oil and the like as applied in the field of hydraulic brake system, especially of such construction that there is provided a force ring adapted to engage in cooperation with the top surface of the circumferential edge of a diaphragm covering the opening at the top end of the reservoir body of cylindrical shape, the force ring being defined at its outer circumferential surface with a flanged portion having threads for the purpose that when installing the diaphragm and the force ring onto the cap to be threadedly engaged with the outer circumference of the top end of the reservoir body, the threads in the flanged portion is led to working position while engaging threadedly with the female threads defined in the inner circumferential surface of the cap, so that the flanged portion may be put to dwell loosely rotatably in the inside of the female threads.
