A recording tape cartridge in which an ability to assemble a security tag into a case is excellent is provided. A recording tape cartridge includes: a case that accommodates a reel on which a recording tape is wound; a security tag having a substantially pillar shape, that is provided within the case, and that is adapted to transmit to and receive from an exterior; and a holding portion formed in the case, that holds the security tag by having the security tag fitted with the holding portion.

The present invention provides a recording tape cartridge in which an ability to assemble a security tag into a case is excellent. A recording tape cartridge has: a case that accommodates a reel on which a recording tape is wound; a security tag having a substantially pillar shape, that is provided within the case, and that is adapted to transmit to and receive from an exterior; a holding member that is provided within the case, and that holds the security tag at a first end side of the holding member; and a portion to be fit that is formed within the case, and which is held by being fitted with a second end side of the holding member.

A recording tape cartridge that can secure the attached region of an RFID in a case is provided including: a case that has an upper case and a lower case and houses a reel around which a recording tape is wound; a restricting wall that is formed at least in the lower case and defines an area in which the reel is housed; a housing portion that is formed between the restricting wall and the corner of the case; and a planar RFID that is provided in the housing portion such that the rotational axis direction of the reel is a normal line direction.

A tape reel assembly comprises a reel hub and flanges coaxially secured to, and extending radially outwardly from, opposite axial ends of the reel hub, respectively, each flange being molded by resin injection molding and having a tapered inside surface sloping down at a fixed taper angle from an inside periphery to an outside periphery thereof. The flange is molded by the use of an injection mold having a mold surface which borders at least a part of a mold cavity for configuration of the tapered inside surface of the flange and is convexly curved to the mold cavity.

A magnetic tape cartridge containing a tape reel to which a magnetic tape with a leader pin attached to a leading end is wound is equipped with a leader pin retaining structure for safe and secure retention of the leader pin immediately behind a tape egress/ingress opening. The leader pin retaining structure comprises a retainer member having resilient arms and a leader pin support for supporting the retainer member so as to place tail end portions of the resilient arms across end collars of the leader pin received in sockets provided adjacent to the tape egress/ingress opening, wherein the leader pin support resiliently urges and bends the resilient arms so as to retain the end collars of the leader pin by the tail end portions of the resilient arms, respectively.

A recording tape cartridge includes a case that comprises an upper case and a lower case and houses a reel around which recording tape is wound. A regulating wall that defines an area in which the reel is housed is formed on the upper case and on the lower case. An attachment member is held between the regulating wall of the upper case and the regulating wall of the lower case so as to be disposed on an outer peripheral surface side of the regulating wall. The attachment member holds an RFID. There is provided a recording tape cartridge that can ensure an attachment region for an RFID inside a case.

A recording tape cartridge comprises: a case that comprises an upper case and a lower case and houses a reel around which recording tape is wound; a regulating wall that is formed at least on the lower case and defines an area in which the reel is housed; a holding wall that is formed a predetermined space away from an outer peripheral surface of the regulating wall; and an RFID that is housed in the space between the regulating wall and the holding wall.

The invention of the present application provides a reel, which comprises a cylindrical resin hub with a base and an outer peripheral surface around which a recording tape is wound, a reel gear formed at an outer surface of a base portion of the hub which engages with a drive gear of a drive device, a metal reel plate provided at the outer surface of the base portion of the hub on a radially inner side of the reel gear by insert molding, a gate trace formed on the base portion of the hub, and a plurality of groove portions formed at regular intervals in a circumferential direction between the reel gear and the reel plate. The groove portions are formed at least at a predetermined area on a virtual straight line connecting a center portion of the hub and a gate trace.

Reel

The recording medium cartridge accommodates a recording medium such as a magnetic tape, a optical and/or magnetic disk, or the like in a cartridge body having an upper half and a lower half. A non-contact type memory device storing information, for example, given when producing the cartridge is provided in a reel of at least one of upper and lower flanges of a tape reel or on a surface facing to the tape winding surface of the body in the cartridge accommodating the tape reel wound with the tape, or in a recessed portion formed in at least one of a bottom surface of the lower half and an upper surface of a slider or in the slider in the cartridge having the slider, or in a transparent window of the body. A part of at least one of the upper and lower halves that corresponds to the memory device may be notched. The memory device may be welded together when fitting other members.

Recording medium cartridge

A leader tape that is joined at an end portion of a recording tape wound on a reel and that, when pulling out the recording tape, is pulled out by a pullout member of a drive device and conveyed on a predetermined path by guide members of the drive device, wherein recessed portions are formed in a surface of the leader tape that abuts with the guide members, is provided.

A leader tape to be spliced in a butting manner to a leading end of a magnetic tape, the leading end being mechanically cut in a tapered shape, wherein the leader tape has a surface roughness RZ (RZ complies with JIS B0601-1994) of 5 &#x3bc;m or less.

The present invention provides a leader tape, method for manufacturing the same, and a magnetic tape cartridge with a leader tape having surface properties and conductive properties for securing slide durability suitable for a magnetic tape drive using a magnetic tape cartridge of one reel cartridge. A leader tape joined to a starting end of a magnetic tape wound around a magnetic tape reel of a one reel cartridge, comprising: a base material; and a conductive slide layer formed on at least one surface of the base material, the surface of the conductive slide layer having a surface electrical resistance value of 10&#x3a9;/square to 10&#x3a9;/square and a surface roughness Ra of 0.5 &#x3bc;m to 1.5 &#x3bc;m.

Leader tape, method for manufacturing the same, and magnetic tape cartridge

A magnetic tape cassette includes a case that is formed by joining an upper half and a lower half, one or more tape reels, a window and a reel urging member having a tape reel contacting portion which contacts an upper part of the tape reel(s), bent arms connected to opposite sides of the tape reel contacting portion and sliding end portions provided at distal ends of the bent arm. A slide groove is provided in an inner surface of a perimeter of a window opening in the upper half and a window member has hold-and-retain portions which hold the sliding end portions in cooperation with a bottom surface of the slide groove into which the sliding end portions have been fitted. A tape reel suitable for use with the magnetic tape cassette, a resinous leaf spring and its production process are also provided. Tape reels housed in a cassette case can be urged toward the lower half by a member whose structure is simple and permits easy fitting and removal. Assorted collection of constituent materials, particularly for assorted collection of resin materials and selective collection of resin materials as separate from metal materials are possible.

The recording medium cartridge includes a cartridge case containing a recording medium and a noncontact-type memory having an IC section for storing information and performing signal processing and an antenna section for transmitting and receiving signals. The antenna section of the memory is placed in a region furthest from metallic parts.

The recording tape cartridge includes a case body formed by joining together an upper half and a lower half and a tape reel around which a recording tape is wound. The cartridge further includes a lid covering a front side of the case body, and a reel lock member which has a braking claw to be engaged with an engagement tooth provided on a flange of the tape reel and which is adapted to slide with rotation of the lid. Ribs nip the reel lock member so as to perform positional regulation, and a sliding reel lock member urging device urges the reel lock member so as to engage the braking claw with the engagement tooth. A reel lock releasing member urges the reel lock member with rotation of the lid so as to release the engagement.
