A fluid compressor comprises a cylinder block, a driving shaft rotatably mounted in the cylinder block by means of thrust bearings and radial bearings, an inclined disk rigidly secured to the driving shaft, pistons slidably disposed in cylinder bores formed in the cylinder block, and shoes for operably connecting the inclined disk to the pistons, which are reciprocally moved in the cylinder bores when the inclined disk is rotated to pressurize gaseous fluid for cooling. In order to accommodate the inclined disk, the cylinder block has a housing, which is provided with recesses or grooves on the opposite axial end surfaces to catch the lubrication oil flowing along the inner wall of the housing. Oil ports or passages are also provided for introducing the oil from the recesses or grooves to the radial bearings. Sliding bearings may be used as the radial bearings. Such a sliding bearing may be provided with an oil guide groove or ball indents on the inner peripheral wall thereof.

Inclined disc type fluid compressor

A piston for a swash plate type compressor is disclosed in which a plurality of similar pistons are reciprocated to provide a compressing operation by means of a swash plate which is mounted on the drive shaft and rotated in the compressor cylinder. The piston comprises a piston main body or blank made of aluminium or aluminium alloy, and a coating layer applied to the overall surface of the piston blank except central portions of both outer end faces of the blank, said coating layer being of ethylene fluoride or a copolymer of ethylene fluoride and a vinyl compound, the heat conductivity of which is lower than that of the piston blank.

Method of manufacturing a piston for a swash plate type compressor

A volumetric fluid compressor or a so-called scroll type compressor is provided in which a rotary shaft is placed centrally in the front side of a housing, a helical portion of a movable scroll member is contacted eccentrically with a helical portion of a fixed scroll member, the helical portion of the movable scroll member is rotated about the axis of the rotary shaft to which the movable scroll member is mounted with an offset, in such a manner that a closed space defined between the two helical portions may be contracted towards the center for compressing the refrigerant gas which may thus be discharged towards rear from the center of the fixed scroll member. A stationary member for preventing the rotation of movable scroll member is secured in the housing about centrally of the longitudinal axis of the housing for defining a suction chamber towards the front side of the housing and a working chamber on the rear side of the housing, the fixed and movable scroll members being provided within the working chamber. A suction port is formed in the housing directly above the rotary shaft for introducing the fluid to be compressed into the suction chamber whereas a plurality of suction passageways are formed in the stationary ring for introducing the fluid to be compressed from the forward side suction chamber into the rear side working chamber.

Volumetric fluid compressor

Disclosed is a sliding shoe for a rotatable swash-plate type refrigerant gas compressor. This shoe is slidably connected between a rotatable swash-plate and a ball rotatably engaged with a piston. One of the major surfaces of the shoe slidably contacts a sliding surface of the swash-plate. A sliding surface of the shoe facing the swash-plate is formed with a flat plane at its center portion and chamfered surface at the remaining portion of the sliding surface. At least the sliding plane of the shoe is coated with a lead alloy. According to the present invention, even if the swash-plate type compressor has no lubrication, abrasion and seizing of the shoe can be reduced to a great extent.

Sliding shoe for a rotatable swash-plate type refrigerant gas compressor

A swash plate type compressor comprising a plurality of cylinder bores and pistons, a swash plate chamber wherein a swash plate for reciprocating the pistons within the cylinder bores is fixed to and rotated with a drive shaft, at least one suction passage communicated with the swash plate chamber, suction chambers and exhaust chambers communicated with the cylinder bores, respectively. Two inlet ports open into the swash plate chamber so as to be opposed to a peripheral side surface of the swash plate when it is inclined to its utmost limit into a front side and a rear side in a predetermined longitudinal section of the compressor. The fluid sucked into the compressor is compressed therein with uniform volumetric efficiency without obstructed by the rotation of the swash plate.

Swash plate type compressor

A swash-plate type compressor wherein a plurality of pistons fitted into a plurality of cylinder bores having their center on a circle are reciprocated by a swash-plate secured to a rotary shaft at a tilt angle. A swash-plate chamber rotatably accommodating the swash-plate concurrently functions as a passage for the refrigerant gas sucked, and an annular refrigerant gas passage, whose external diameter is larger than that of a circumcircle of the aforementioned cylinder bores and whose inner side is open to the swash-plate chamber, is formed on the external side of the swash-plate chamber. This annular passage for the refrigerant gas sucked functions as a by-pass therefor, diminishes the flow resistance of the refrigerant gas, and facilitates the cooling of the pistons with a result of reducing the operation noise produced from the engaging portion of the pistons and the swash-plate.

Swash-plate type compressor

A rotary compressor for compressing fluid. A housing having a cylindrical internal cavity is provided with vanes and delivery ports. A rotor is rotatably mounted in the housing. The rotor has a portion for making a sealing contact with the inner peripheral surface of the housing. The rotor has a suction chamber formed therein. The number of the vanes is greater by 1 (one) than the number of the sealing contacts between the rotor and the inner peripheral surface of the housing. At least one suction port is formed through the wall of the rotor, so that the fluid in the suction chamber may be sucked into the working chamber defined by the vanes, rotor and the housing. The suction port is so located that, when a working chamber has been expanded to its maximum volume, the suction port is positioned between the vane located at the leading side of the working chamber as viewed in the direction or rotation of the rotor and the sealing portion closer to the vane. The fluid compressed in the working chamber is delivered to the outside of the housing through the delivery ports.

Rotary compressor with vanes in the housing and suction through the rotor

A refrigerant compressor which automatically adjusts the suction amount of the refrigerant gas according to the variation of the operative conditions of the refrigerating system. The compressor is provided with a detector (sensor) such as bellows, bimetals, etc., which are variable in form according to the variation of pressure or temperature of the refrigerant gas caused by the variation of operative conditions of the refrigerating system, and with a device which is actuated by the deformation or form-variation of the detector for varying the flow passage area of the refrigerant gas at the suction port of the refrigerant gas to the compressing chamber of the compressor.

Refrigerant compressor

A round plate shape shoe for incorporation into a swash plate type compressor as an operative engaging element intervened between a rotatable swash plate and a reciprocal piston is structured to have a first flattened face slidably contacting the swash plate and a second face opposite to the first flattened face, the second face being formed with a recess for receiving a ball bearing, which has a spherical shape portion complementary with a part of the ball bearing and a round bore portion with a bottom. The spherical shape portion of the recess is concentric with the round bore portion.

Structure of a shoe for a swash plate type compressor

Shoes for operatively connecting a swash-plate with the compression pistons of a swash-plate type compressor are made from a novel Cu-based alloy. Improved shoes are characterized by a combination of high heat conductivity and excellent wear resistance properties particularly when subjected to a lubricating condition so severe that no lubricating oil is supplied to the surface of the shoes at the initial period of the compressor operation. At least three alloying elements are selected from Mn, Si, Pb, Sn, the IVb and VIb groups of the periodic table, and added in predetermined amounts to the Cu-based alloy, so that the properties mentioned above are simultaneously obtained. The compressor according to the present invention can be reliably employed, without the occurrence of seizure over a long operational period for air-conditioning vehicles, in which the sliding condition of the shoes is drastically varied with the rotation of the engine.

Swash-plate-type compressor for air-conditioning vehicles

A shoe for incorporation into a swash plate type compressor is structured such that tetrafluoroethylene resin material forming a first and second main portions of the shoe contains a metalic reinforcing member embedded between the two main portions the first main portion made of the tetrafluoroethylene is provided with a flat surface contacting a swash plate of the compressor. The second main portion made of the tetrafluoroethylene is formed with a round recess for receiving a ball bearing operatively connected to a piston of the compressor. The reinforcing member is positioned close to the round recess and far from the flat surface.

A pair of blocks or shell members of an appliance or the like are mated with each other, and an O-ring is fitted in an O-ring groove provided in the mating end surface of one of the shell members along the entire circumference thereof. In addition, a narrow annular clearance space is provided in a mating plane of the mating end surfaces of the shell members on the side close to the outer peripheral surface of the shell members, when assembled, i.e., radially outwards of the O-ring groove, in a manner to communicate with the exterior of the shell members, so that oil trapped in voids defined between an O-ring, and the walls of the O-ring groove and a mating surface of the counterpart shell, after the assembly of the shell members, may be removed with a cleaning liquid with ease. The annular clearance space may be provided either in the mating end surface of one shell member, in which the O-ring groove is formed, or in the mating end surface of the counterpart shell member having no O-ring groove therein.

Sealing device

Shoes for operatively connecting a swash-plate with the compression pistons of a swash-plate type compressor are made from a novel Cu-based alloy. Improved shoes are characterized by a combination of high heat conductivity and excellent wear resistance properties particularly when subjected to a lubricating condition so severe that no lubricating oil is supplied to the surface of the shoes at the initial period of the compressor operation. Phosphorus and elements of C group (Pb and/or Sn), as well as elements of A group (Mn and Si) and/or B group (the IVb and VIb groups of the periodic table), are added in predetermined amounts to the Cu-based alloy, so that the properties mentioned above are simultaneously obtained. The compressor according to the present invention can be reliably employed, without the occurrence of seizure over a long operational period for air-conditioning vehicles, in which the sliding condition of the shoes is drastically varied with the rotation of the engine.

A valve assembly, for a multi-cylinder swash plate type compressor, which includes a gasket means made of a metallic plate and coated, on both faces thereof, with a resilient film, such as a rubber film. The gasket means comprises an outermost, an intermediate, and an innermost annular portion for applying a hermetic seal effect to low and high pressure refrigerant chambers in the compressor. The annular portions of the gasket means are interconnected by a rib means including a plurality of ribs functioning to permit only a predetermined magnitude of opening motion of outlet reed valve means of the compressor.
