An ester wax is obtained by a condensation reaction of carboxylic acid and alcohol; wherein the carboxylic acid contains a single kind of saturated linear monocarboxylic acid having 14 to 30 carbon atoms as a main component, and the single kind of carboxylic acid is contained in a ratio of 60 wt % or more of the entire carboxylic acid; the alcohol contains a single kind of saturated linear monohydric alcohol having 14 to 30 carbon atoms or a single kind of polyhydric alcohol having 2 to 6 hydroxyl groups and having 2 to 30 carbon atoms as a main component, and when the monohydric alcohol is the main component, the monohydric alcohol is contained in a ratio of 60 wt % or more of the entire alcohol, and when the polyhydric alcohol is the main component, the polyhydric alcohol is contained in a ratio of 80 wt % or more of the entire alcohol; and the ester wax has an acid value of 3 mgKOH/g or less, and a hydroxyl value of 5 mgKOH/g or less, and a maximum peak temperature in a differential thermal curve is in a range from 55&deg; C. to 90&deg; C.

Ester wax and toner using the wax

The present invention provides a method for coating wax or resin particles with metallic soap, wherein (a) a water dispersion of wax or resin particles, the dispersion containing water-soluble fatty acid soap, and (b) an aqueous solution or a water dispersion of a polyvalent metal compound are mixed in such a manner that an equivalent ratio of the polyvalent metal compound to the water-soluble fatty acid soap is 0.5 to 1.5.

Method for coating wax or resin particles with metallic soap

There are disclosed metallic soap fine particles which have an average particle size of 4 .mu.m or smaller and have a content of particles having particle sizes of 10 .mu.m or larger of at most 4% by weight based on the whole metallic soap fine particles; a process for producing the metallic soap fine particles, comprising mixing (a) an aqueous solution containing 0.001 to 20% by weight of an alkali metal salt or an ammonium salt of a fatty acid having 4 to 30 carbon atoms with (b) an aqueous solution or dispersion containing 0.001 to 20% by weight of an inorganic metal salt at a specific temperature to form a slurry of the metallic soap, and drying the resultant slurry at a specific temperature. The metallic soap, which has remarkably fine particles and narrow particle size distribution, is well suited for use e.g. as a toner additive in an electrophotographic copying machine by virtue of the improvements in blocking resistance, fluidity and eliminability of the toner, and also as a cleaning aid in the same owing to the improvement in cleaning performance for residual toner without impairing the surface of a picture image support.

Metallic soap fine particles, process for producing same and use of same

A heat resistant label and a process for making the same are disclosed. The label is composed of a film made of a silicone resin in an amount of 20 to 95 wt % and an inorganic monocrystalline fiber in an amount of 80 to 5 wt %, together with an adhesive made of silicone resin in an amount of 10 to 80% and a metal powder in 90 to 20 wt %.

Dispersion-stabilizing agent for inorganic powder in oily material

An organic lubricating coating composition for use in plastic deformation of a metal sheet comprises a maleic anhydride/styrene copolymer which has been at least partially esterified with one or more organic hydroxy compounds, or a salt of the esterified copolymer. The molar ratio of the maleic anhydride component to the styrene component in the copolymer is in the range of from 1:99 to 75:25. At least 10% by weight of the organic hydroxy compounds is comprised of a long-chain hydroxy compound containing from 10 to 30 carbon atoms.

Organic lubricating coating composition for use in plastic deformation

A process for the production of a coal-water mixture, which comprises dry-pulverizing coal under supply of hot air to form pulverized coal in which the proportion of particles having a particle size smaller than 200 .mu.m is at least 90%, in which the proportion of particles having a particle size smaller than 10 .mu.m is 10 to 60%, and making the pulverized coal and the hot air sucked in a mixed-air water jet stream.
