In a liquid crystal display (LCD) device having a touch panel function, power consumption is reduced in the standby state. The display section is divided into blocks each of which is formed of a plurality of display lines. The counter electrode is disposed for each block. A driving circuit selectively supplies, to the counter electrode of each block, the voltage used for the liquid crystal display and the voltage used for the touch panel scanning. The driving circuit has a source amplifier that supplies the video voltages to the video lines. The driving circuit reduces the current in the source amplifier, such that the current is lower than current at the time of a normal operation, to lower the power consumption, and stops the operation of the source amplifier and supplies the GND voltage to the video lines to further lower the power consumption.

A display device includes a gate scanning circuit and a driver IC. The driver IC includes a voltage detection circuit for detecting a voltage level of an external power supply, a voltage generation circuit for generating the voltage for driving the gate line, a switching circuit for switching between the output voltage of the voltage generation circuit and the voltage of the external power supply, and a drive circuit. Upon detection of the voltage outside of the predetermined voltage range by the voltage detection circuit, the switching circuit supplies the voltage of the external power supply to the gate scanning circuit. The gate scanning circuit selects all gate lines for outputting the voltage of the external power supply. The drive circuit supplies the GND level to all the source lines.

The stereoscopic display device has a display panel, a barrier liquid crystal panel disposed on the display panel, and a driving circuit for driving the display panel and the barrier liquid crystal panel, in which the frame frequency of the display panel and the alternating frequency of the barrier liquid crystal panel are different, the barrier liquid crystal panel is driven by a driving voltage input from the driving circuit, the driving circuit has an inverter circuit for outputting the driving voltage, independently controls a p-type transistor and an n-type transistor in the inverter circuit, and has time periods in which both the p-type transistor and the n-type transistor are turned off when the driving voltage is switched from a high level to a low level or a low level to a high level.

Stereoscopic display device

The present invention relates to enhancing low power consumption of a display device having a SRAM. The display device includes a drive circuit receiving video data; video lines connected the drive circuit; and pixels connected to the video signals. The drive circuit includes a memory storing the video data in memory cells. Each memory cell includes a first inverter with input and output terminals connected to first and second nodes, respectively. A second inverter has output and input terminals connected to the first and second nodes, respectively. A First and second transistors between a first data line and the first node each have a control terminal connected to a first word line or a third word line, respectively. Third and fourth transistors between a second data line and the second node each have a control terminal connected to a second word line or a fourth word line, respectively.

Liquid crystal display device with decreased power consumption

A display device includes a drive circuit to which video data is supplied from the outside; video lines to which video signals outputted from the drive circuit are supplied; and pixels to which the video signals are supplied through the video lines. The drive circuit includes a static random access memory which stores the video data in memory cells. The drive circuit is configured to perform writing only on selected memory cells that are connected to shared writing and reading word lines, to drive other memory cells connected to the shared writing and reading word lines and not selected to perform writing to output video data respectively stored therein to a reading data line, and then to rewrite the video data back to the non-selected memory cells, without precharging the memory cells that are connected to shared writing and reading word lines.
