Disclosed is an electrochromic display element having a counter electrode comprised of a sintered material prepared by sintering an atomized material comprising as main components a powder of Sn[Fe(CN).sub.6 ], MnK[Fe(CN).sub.6 ], NiK[Fe(CN).sub.6 ], amorphous Fe.sub.2 (WO.sub.4).sub.3, amorphous FeWO.sub.4, amorphous Mn.sub.2 (WO.sub.4).sub.3 or amorphous MnWO.sub.4 and a powder of carbon. This electrochromic display element is characterized in that no substantial non-uniform brightness is observed among colored segments.

Electrochromic display element

This invention relates to lithium compounds composed of a lithium halide and lithium imide. The compounds are high in lithium ionic conductivity and are used as solid electrolytes. Particularly excellent ones of the lithium compounds are those represented by the general formula:

Nitric acid is added to an aqueous solution of organic acid salts of metals to be included in a resulting complex oxide powder, into which an aqueous solution of an inorganic salt of other metal component has been incorporated according to need, and the resulting solution is heated until the organic acid salts are decomposed and the decomposition product is heated, whereby a intended complex powder which is very fine and highly bulky and has a large specific surface area is obtained.
