A polyvinyl alcohol film is provided, which is highly transparent, and excellent in antistatic property and cold-water solubility. The polyvinyl alcohol film contains: (A) a polyvinyl alcohol resin; and (B) an ester of a C2 to C4 fatty acid (b1) and a polyhydric alcohol (b2); wherein the ester (B) is present in an amount of 1 to 4,000 ppm.

A resin composition can be formed into a product excellent in coloration resistance even if being subjected to a melt-forming process and the like a plurality of times and hence frequently subjected to thermal history. The present disclosure provides a resin composition which contains: (A) a saponified ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer; and (B) a cinnamate; wherein the cinnamate (B) is present in a proportion of 0.01 to 10 ppm based on the amount of the saponified ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer (A). Therefore, the use of the resin composition makes it possible to produce a film which is highly transparent, capable of absorbing ultraviolet radiation of a specific wavelength range (e.g., UV-B and UV-C having a wavelength shorter than 320 nm) and free from an odor problem and the like.

Provided is a resin composition which has excellent gas barrier performance after hot water treatment and which both has long-run stability and suppress decomposition and foaming in operations conducted at a high temperature. A resin composition which can suppress the deterioration of performances of a multilayer structure due to moisture absorption regardless that the multilayer structure includes a hygroscopic layer whose performance is deteriorated due to moisture absorption, and a multilayer structure including a layer of the resin composition, are provided. Since the resin composition contains a hydrate-forming alkaline earth metal salt having a specific water absorption property, a multilayer structure comprising a layer of the resin composition can exhibit moisture resistance as a whole of the multilayer structure without affecting the appearance thereof.

It is a process for producing a composite of saponified product of an ethylene-vinyl ester-based copolymer, which comprises: mixing a composition (a) containing a saponified product of ethylene-vinyl ester-based copolymer (A1) and having a moisture content of 50% by weight or higher with a water-swellable layered inorganic compound (B) to obtain a composition (C); and mixing the composition (C) in the state of having a moisture content of 10% by weight or higher and less than 60% by weight with a saponified product of ethylene-vinyl ester-based copolymer (A2).

Process for producing EVOH composite

Disclosed is an EVOH resin composition which exhibits coloration resistance and thermal resistance even at high temperature, and which has excellent adhesiveness to a thermoplastic resin composition. Such EVOH resin composition can provide a multilayer structure having excellent appearance. The EVOH resin composition comprises (A) an EVOH resin, (B) an alkaline earth metal, (C) an alkali metal, and (D) a carboxylic acid having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms, wherein the contents of the components (B), (C) and (D) are adjusted to the specific range.

Provided is an EVOH resin composition suitable for use as a multilayer structure serving as a material for molded articles, in particular, liquid container such as bags for bag-in-boxes. The EVOH resin composition has such flexibility that even when used in applications where the resin composition is repeatedly folded or deformed over a long period, the resin composition does not develop pinholes or the like, and further has excellent gas barrier properties and melt molding stability.
