Internal control devices (A toD) included respectively in air conditioners (A toD) in an air conditioning system () are communicably connected one by one correspondingly to external control devices (A toD). Each of the external control devices (A toD) is configured to execute command generating operation of generating an operation command to a corresponding one of the air conditioners (A toD). The external control devices (A toD) constitute an external control system (). In the external control system (), one of the external control devices (A) functions as a master control device configured to execute the command generating operation whereas remaining ones of the external control devices (A toD) other than the external control device (A) functioning as the master control device function as sub control devices configured not to execute the command generating operation.

Air-conditioning system including a master and slave configuration

A heat exchanger carries out heat exchange between a refrigerant that undergoes a phase change during heat exchange and another heating medium. The heat exchanger includes headers having the refrigerant flowing through interiors, a plurality of multi-hole first flat tubes, and a plurality of second flat tubes. The first flat tubes extend in a direction intersecting a lengthwise direction of the headers. The first flat tubes have a plurality of refrigerant flow channels with the refrigerant flowing through the refrigerant flow channels. The second flat tubes are stacked alternately with respect to the first flat tubes, with the other heating medium flowing through the second flat tubes. The headers are arranged to extend along a horizontal direction.
