A fastening device includes a shaft having a longitudinal axis, a fixing member configured to fix the shaft to an endoscope by being attached to the endoscope, a staple unit attached to a distal end of the shaft and rotatable around the longitudinal axis, an operation unit provided at a proximal-end portion of the shaft, and a rotation restriction mechanism configured to restrict rotation of the staple unit around the longitudinal axis with respect to the endoscope due to an operation of the operation unit.

Fastening device, endoscope system, and suturing method

A surgical system includes: an overtube including a channel into which an endoscope is inserted; and an expansion device configured to ensure a surgical space by expanding an interior of a body at a distal side relative to a tip of the overtube. The expansion device includes a sheath and a wire configured to be protrudable from the sheath. The wire is configured to be switchable between a first configuration in which the wire protrudes from the sheath and a second configuration in which the wire protrudes from the sheath in a state where the wire is tilted, around a longitudinal axis, at an angle different from the first configuration.

Surgical system and expansion device

A medical system includes a medical device, an over-tube, and a console. The medical device includes an insertion portion. The over-tube is configured to receive the insertion portion. A console having a first connector is attached to the medical device and a second connector is attached to the over-tube. The over-tube has a tubular main body and a proximal-end portion. The proximal-end portion comprises a tubular member having an insertion port for receiving the insertion portion of the medical device therethrough. A base portion is coupled to the second connector and a moving mechanism is coupled to both the tubular member and the base portion. The moving mechanism is configured to cause the tubular member to move with respect to the second connector such that the tubular member has two or more degrees of freedom with respect to the second connector.

An overtube is provided with a flexible elongated portion provided with a channel, the channel is configured to pass therethrough in a longitudinal direction of the elongated portion so as to insert a medical device; a shape fixing mechanism provided in the elongated portion, and the shape fixing mechanism switches the state of the elongated portion between a bendable state and a shape-fixed state; and a gate mechanism disposed on a base-end side of the elongated portion, the gate mechanism is configured to close the channel when the state of the elongated portion is switched to the bendable state, and open the channel when the state of the elongated portion is switched to the shape-fixed state.

Overtube and medical system

A medical device insertion method includes: inserting an endoscope into an overtube until a distal end of the endoscope protrudes from a distal end of the overtube; grasping a part of the endoscope protruding from the distal end of the overtube and inserting the endoscope into the large intestine until the distal end of the endoscope is between the splenic flexure and the sigmoid colon of the large intestine; and inserting the overtube together with the endoscope into the large intestine until the distal end of the endoscope is beyond the splenic flexure while grasping the overtube from an outer radial direction so as to deform the overtube in an inner radial direction until an inner surface of the overtube is pressed against an outer circumferential surface of the endoscope, and then inserting the overtube into the large intestine until a reinforced region is placed in the splenic flexure.

A method of delivering and recovering a curved needle includes a step of inserting a first needle holder into abdominal cavity, a step of inserting a second needle holder holding a curved needle into gastrointestinal tract, a step of penetrating gastrointestinal wall with the curved needle to protrude the curved needle to the abdominal cavity, a step of removing the curved needle from the gastrointestinal wall and delivering the curved needle and the suture thread to the abdominal cavity, a suture step of suturing tissues in the abdominal cavity, a step of protruding the curved needle to the gastrointestinal tract, a step of removing the curved needle from the gastrointestinal wall and returning the curved needle from the abdominal cavity to the gastrointestinal tract, and a step of taking out the curved needle from the gastrointestinal tract to outside of body to recover the curved needle.

An endoscope auxiliary tool includes a first support section which is formed to extend along a longitudinal axis, a second support section which is formed substantially in parallel to the longitudinal axis of the first support section, a first protrusion section and a second protrusion section which are formed at distal end sections of the first support section and the second support section, respectively, and disposed more distal than the distal end section of the endoscope to sandwich an axis of a channel having an opening at the distal end section of the endoscope, and a positioning section which is configured to position the first protrusion section and the second protrusion section with respect to the distal end section of the endoscope such that the first support section and the second support section are inclined to the axis of the channel.

Endoscope treatment system

An endoscope system includes: an insertion part inserted into a body; an observation part provided at the insertion part and observing an inside of a viewing range defined in the front thereof; an arm part manipulated to be bent, a proximal end portion of which is provided at the insertion part, and which has an opening of a channel, through which a treatment tool is inserted, provided at a distal end side thereof; a first detection part detecting an out-of-viewing-range state where a center axis line in the opening of the channel does not pass through the viewing range; a second detection part detecting that the treatment tool has been inserted through the channel; and an alert part alerting a user when the second detection part detects that the treatment tool has been inserted through the channel and the first detection part detects the out-of-viewing-range state.

An endoscope device includes a flexible insertion portion; a flexible tube portion; a first bending portion; a second bending portion; an observation portion; a first drive portion bending the first bending portion; a second drive portion bending the second bending portion; a position detection portion detecting a position of a rigid distal end portion of a medical instrument; first and second bending detection portions detecting radii of curvature of axes of channels formed in the first and second bending portions and directions in which the channels are bent when an input signal generated by the position detection portion is received, respectively; and a control portion configured to control generating a second drive signal driving the second drive portion based on a first drive signal driving the first drive portion, and sending the second drive signal to the second drive portion while sending the first drive signal.

Endoscope device

A medical device includes a long shaft member, a curved portion configured to be curved, a support member that is configured to be deformed along a curved shape of the curved portion, a guide member that extends from a distal end of the curved portion, and a linear member that includes a connection portion connected to the guide member, the linear member being inserted into the support member, and that pulls the guide member in accordance with a change of the curved shape. A central axis of the guide member is positioned apart from the central axis of the support member. The linear member which protrudes from the support member is inclined with respect to a longitudinal axis of the guide member and is connected to the connection portion.

A surgical instrument includes an insertion section, a first jaw and a second jaw provided at a distal end portion of the insertion section, having predetermined curved shapes and configured to grasp tissue; a guide section formed along the predetermined curved shape and disposed in at least one of the first jaw and the second jaw; an actuation section which is movable by being guided by the guide section; a shaft body provided at the actuation section and configured to be rotatable about a rotation axis parallel to a center line of the shaft body; and a blade section connected to the shaft body at a position apart from the rotation axis in a direction across to the shaft body and configured to be directed to the shaft body, the blade section being rotatable about the rotation axis.
