The present invention relates to cylindrical expanded thermoplastic elastomer beads provided with through-holes, the expanded thermoplastic elastomer beads including a core layer in an foamed state constituted of a base polymer containing a thermoplastic elastomer and a cover layer covering the core layer and constituted of a thermoplastic polymer, wherein a coefficient of dynamic friction of the thermoplastic polymer is 0.8 or less, and a difference between a melting point (Tmc) of the base polymer and a melting point (Tms) of the thermoplastic polymer is −20° C. or more and 20° C. or less. The present invention also relates to an expanded thermoplastic elastomer beads molded article formed by subjecting expanded thermoplastic elastomer beads provided with through-holes to in-mold molding, the molded article including a core layer in a foamed state and a cover layer covering the core layer, wherein a voidage is 15% or more, a density is 10 kg/mor more and 200 kg/mor less, and the product of a tensile strength (MPa) and a tensile elongation (%) is 5 or more.

Thermoplastic elastomer foam particles and molded body of same

A modified expanded bead that includes an expanded bead which includes a specific base polymer (β) and a coating layer which includes a specific base polymer (α). The coating layer covers at least part of an outer surface of the expanded bead. The melting point Tα of the base polymer (α) and the melting point Tβ of the base polymer (β) satisfy a relationship of 0≤Tα−Tβ≤20. When the modified expanded bead is cut into two halves along a cutting plane to form two half portions and thereafter one of the two half portions is cut along planes perpendicular to the cutting plane to form ten small pieces, outermost pieces among the ten small pieces have a xylene-insoluble content (B) which is less than a xylene-insoluble content (A) in the half portion and the xylene-insoluble content (A) is 10-80% by mass.

Expanded beads are those including a mixture of an olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer and a polyethylene-based resin, wherein a melt flow rate MFR(I) of the olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer is 2-10 g/10 min; a difference ((MFR(II))−(MFR(I))) between a melt flow rate MFR(II) of the polyethylene-based resin and the melt flow rate MFR(I) of the olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer is 1-35 g/10 min; and a content of the polyethylene-based resin in the mixture is 3-40% by weight.

The present invention is concerned with expanded beads of a block copolymer of a polyethylene block and an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer block, wherein a xylene insoluble fraction (A) of the expanded beads by a hot xylene extraction method is 10 to 70% by weight, and a ratio (A/B) of the xylene insoluble fraction (A) to a xylene insoluble fraction (B) of the expanded beads by a hot xylene extraction method when divided into two equal parts and measured is 1.0 to 1.1, and is able to provide expanded beads with excellent in-mold moldability and an expanded beads molded article with excellent fusion bondability and restorability.

The present invention relates to thermoplastic olefin elastomer expanded beads, having an average aspect ratio of 1.10 or less and an average circularity of 0.985 or more. The thermoplastic olefin elastomer expanded beads preferably have a crystal structure such that a melting peak inherent in the thermoplastic olefin elastomer (inherent peak) and one or more melting peaks on a higher temperature side than the inherent peak (high temperature peaks) appear on a DSC curve obtained when heating the expanded beads from 23&#xb0; C. to 200&#xb0; C. at a heating rate of 10&#xb0; C./min.

The present invention is concerned with an expanded beads molded article of expanded beads comprising a crosslinked multi-block copolymer containing a polyethylene block and an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer block, wherein a density is 40 to 150 g/L; a gel fraction by a hot xylene extraction method is 30 to 70% by weight; a tensile elongation is 120% or more; a bead weight of the expanded beads is 0.8 to 8 mg; and the number of expanded beads per unit area on a surface of the expanded beads molded article is 5 to 30 per cm, and is able to provide an expanded beads molded article which is light in weight and favorable in surface properties, fusion bondability, and durability.

An object of the present invention is to provide expanded beads capable of producing an expanded beads molded article that is excellent in in-mold moldability and is excellent with good balance in lightweight property, flexibility, repulsion, restorability, and tensile characteristics, and an expanded beads molded article using the expanded beads. The expanded beads molded article of the present invention is produced by subjecting the crosslinked expanded beads of the present invention, to in-mold molding. The expanded beads molded article of the present invention may have an apparent density of from 40 to 150 g/L.

An inorganic filler-containing, polyolefin-based resin expanded bead having an expanded core layer of a first polyolefin-based resin, and a cover layer of a second polyolefin-based resin that covers the expanded core layer, wherein a weight ratio of the cover layer to the expanded core layer is 1:99 to 20:80, the expanded core layer contains an inorganic filler in a weight percentage amount of 5 to 90%, and the cover layer contains no inorganic filler or contains an inorganic filler in a weight percentage amount lower than that in the expanded core layer.
