A non-limiting example information processing system includes a first input apparatus including a strain sensor, a second input apparatus including a motion sensor, and an information processing apparatus. The strain sensor provides an output corresponding to a force applied to at least a portion of the first input apparatus. The motion sensor provides an output corresponding to a motion of the second input apparatus. The information processing apparatus includes a computer that executes obtaining strain data corresponding to the output of the strain sensor and motion data corresponding to the output of the motion sensor, and executing first control on an object disposed in a virtual space based on the strain data, and second control on the object based on the motion data, the second control being different from the first control.

Input data containing at least strain data corresponding to deformation of an input apparatus or motion data corresponding to a motion or orientation of the input apparatus, is obtained from the input apparatus. Based on the motion data, a first object is caused to move in a virtual space or an orientation of the first object in the virtual space is changed. Based on the strain data, the first object is caused to perform a predetermined action in the virtual space.

The controller finishes focusing operation without driving the lens when the defocus amount is out a range of a first in-focus determination width, and performs the focusing operation when the defocus amount is out a range of the first in-focus determination width. The controller finishes the focusing operation without performing the focus detection again after completing the drive when the defocus amount is out a range of a second in-focus determination width, and performs the focus detection again after completing the drive when the defocus amount is out a range of the second in-focus determination width. The second in-focus determination width is set to be greater than the first in-focus determination width and be greater than or equal to a drive limit value.
