A proximity sensor is arranged with a first electrode input with a first signal, a second electrode input with a second signal different from the first signal, a third electrode arranged closer to the first electrode than the second electrode, and the second signal has a reverse phase of the first signal.

Detection device is provided and includes first and second electrodes disposed facing or close to first electrodes; first drive circuit configured to supply first drive signal; second driver circuit configured to supply second drive signal; and detector configured to detect detection signal output from first electrodes, wherein detection device has first period in which detector detects first detection signal output from first electrodes in response to supply of second drive signal to second electrodes, if first detection signal detected in first period is equal to or higher than predetermined threshold, detector is configured to output an output signal including panel coordinates generated based on first detection signal, if first detection signal detected in first period is lower than predetermined threshold, detection device is transitioned to a second period in which detector detects second detection signal output from first electrodes in response to supply of first drive signal to first electrodes and supply of guard signal synchronized with first drive signal to second electrodes, and detector is configured to output an output signal including panel coordinates generated based on second detection signal.

A detection device comprising: a plurality of first electrodes; a plurality of second electrodes facing or being close to the first electrodes; a first drive circuit configured to supply a first drive signal to the first electrodes; a second drive circuit configured to supply a second drive signal to the second electrodes, the second drive signal having a same waveform as that of the first drive signal and in synchronization with the first drive signal; and a detector configured to detect a first detection signal, a second detection signal, and a third detection signal.

Proximity sensor and display device

A display apparatus includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a display functional layer, first electrodes, second electrodes, third electrodes, and a drive circuit. The second substrate faces the first substrate. The display functional layer is provided between the first substrate and the second substrate and used to display an image in a display area. The first electrodes are provided in the display area between the first substrate and the second substrate. The second electrodes are provided, facing the first electrodes, in the display area on the surface of the second substrate. The third electrodes are provided in a frame area on the outer side of the display area. The drive circuit supplies a first drive signal to at least one of the first electrodes and the second electrodes.

Display apparatus that includes electrodes in a frame area

A detection device and a display device include first electrodes, second electrodes, a detector, and a coupling circuit. The first electrodes are disposed side by side in a first direction and a second direction intersecting the first direction. The second electrodes are disposed on the side facing the first electrodes and extend in the second direction. The detector receives a first detection signal output from the second electrodes based on changes in capacitance between the first electrodes and the second electrodes or a second detection signal output from the first electrodes based on changes in capacitance in the first electrodes.

A force detection apparatus includes: a force detector that includes an electrode and a conductor facing the electrode across a first and a second layers and outputs a force signal value before correction; and a force detection controller outputting a force signal value after correction having a linear relationship with a force. In a first range of force in which the first layer is deformed and the second layer is not deformed, the force detection controller calculates the force signal value after correction, based on a product of the force and a first constant. In a second range of force in which the first and second layers are deformed, the force detection controller calculates the force signal value after correction, based on a sum of a product of a threshold and the first constant and a product of a difference between the force and the threshold and a second constant.

According to an aspect, a force detection apparatus includes: a first electrode facing an input surface to which an object to be detected applies a force; a second electrode facing the first electrode across a first layer deformable by the force; a conductor facing the second electrode across a second layer deformable by the force; and a force detection controller calculates a force signal value indicating the force, based on a first influence amount and a second influence amount, the first influence amount being an amount of influence added by the force to first capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode, and the second influence amount being an amount of influence added by the force to second capacitance between the second electrode and the conductor.

According to an aspect, a force detection apparatus includes: a first electrode facing an input surface to which an object to be detected applies force, and configured to be supplied with a drive signal; a conductor facing the first electrode, and supplied with a reference potential; a second electrode and a third electrode arranged between the first electrode and the conductor; a first dielectric layer arranged between the first electrode, and the second electrode and the third electrode; and a second dielectric layer arranged between the second electrode and the third electrode, and the conductor. The second electrode is supplied with the reference potential. A signal that is the same as the drive signal is supplied in synchronization with the drive signal to the third electrode.
