This invention is directed to a video signal transmitting/receiving apparatus adapted for converting a series of video signals into picture data in predetermined block units to send out it to a transmission path in the asynchronous transfer mode to thereby transmit a first video material formed by the series of video signals to transmission object, and adapted for receiving picture data inputted in the predetermined block units by the asynchronous transfer mode through the transmission path to convert it into a series of video signals to thereby receive a second video material formed by the series of video signals transmitted from transmission object. In this apparatus, an approach is employed to once record a series of digital video signals onto the prescribed video signal recording medium thereafter to intermittently reproduce those digital video signals to send out them to the transmission path of the asynchronous transfer mode, or an approach is employed to record a series of data received from the transmission path of the asynchronous transfer mode onto the recording medium to output those data, thus allowing digital video signals of the synchronous transfer system to undergo transmission by way of the transmission path of the asynchronous transfer mode such as B-ISDN, etc. Thus, video materials are caused to undergo transmission/reception through the transmission path of this kind to have ability of improving the working efficiency.

Video signal transmission apparatus

A high-speed filing system has a formatter and cache memory for converting video signal data supplied from a plurality of input signal sources into data of a common intermediate format, a data mass storage for adding identification headers to the converted video signal data, recording the video signal data with the identification headers as a series of successive data at a high speed, and reading the recorded video signal data, a sorter, buffer, and cache memory for rearranging the read video signal data according to the input signal sources based on the identification headers, and a data mass storage for recording the rearranged video signal data as filing data on a filing recording medium.

High-speed filing system

Cassette managing data is read or written with a cassette accommodated in its bin. Cassettes 2a, 2b, 2c, and so on are attached at particular positions thereof to IC cards 1a, 1b, 1c, and so on respectively. Cassette bins 4a, 4b, 4c, and so on have read/write devices 3a, 3b, 3c and so on respectively at positions communicable with the IC cards. Control information of each cassette is read with the cassette accommodated in its bin from the read/write device and the read control information is controlled by a control server 5 via a LAN 9a. A robotics unit 8 is controlled by the control server 5 via a LAN 9c to move cassettes to the bins 4a, 4b, 4c, and so on or an image and/or sound information input/output block 7.

In photomagnetic recording device and photomagnetic reproducing device where a record light beam is irradiated to a photomagnetic record medium in response to a record light thereby a pit is formed on the photomagnetic record medium, and a reproducing light beam is irradiated to the pit on the photomagnetic record medium thereby the record information is reproduced, since the record light beam is emitted intermittently in the light irradiation period that the pit is to be formed on the photomagnetic record medium among the record signal, the pit of nearly circular shape can be formed on the photomagnetic record medium, thus the information can be recorded on the photomagnetic record medium at high accuracy.

Photomagnetic recording device and photomagnetic reproducing device

In a photomagnetic recording device where a record light beam irradiates a photomagnetic record medium to form a pit on the photomagnetic record medium, and a reproducing light beam irradiates the pit to reproduce the record information, the record light beam is pulsed intermittently at least at the beginning of the irradiation period so that a pit of substantially circular shape is formed on the photomagnetic record medium, whereby information is recorded with high accuracy.

An area for recording a preformated encoding pattern is provided on a rewritable disk in order to obtain information of an eccentricity produced when the disk is chucked. The information of the eccentricity produced at the time of disk chucking is detected, while the disk is being driven, from a reference pulse obtained by reproduction of the encoding pattern and, on the basis of the eccentricity information, the frequency of the clock for writing data or reading data is modulated according to eccentric positions.

An apparatus for detecting modulated informations from emitted light turned around by an object is disclosed, in which a non-modulation interval is provided in a light signal from a transmitting side, an information from the transmitting side is received at a receiving side by its light receiving elements and the light signal from the transmitting side during the non-modulation interval is modulated and then reflected back to the transmitting side thereby transmitting a signal. Consequently, the space and the cost of the receiving side can be reduced, and the optical axes of the transmitting side and the receiving side can be positively adjusted with ease. Also, according to the present invention, a bar code is disclosed, which includes an optical recursive reflection member which reflects back a light incident thereon in substantially the same direction of the incident light. This bar code further includes a shutter which can modulate a code.

A counting clock generator for a video tape recorder, in which two different phase counter clock signals at a pulse repetition frequency corresponding to the running speed of a tape are processed to obtain a direction detection signal indicating the direction of running of the tape and a clock signal at a frequency of predetermined times that of the two different phase counter clock signals, and the clock signal thus obtained is counted by a reversible counter, which is controlled for switching between up-counting and down-counting by the direction detecting signal with data '0' preset when the tape is running forward and data 'maximum value' preset when the tape is running backward, for producing two revised counter clock signals of different phases according to the count output signal from the reversible counter.

Apparatus is disclosed for use in a video signal reproducing system of the type having first and second rotary reproducing transducers for reproducing video and vertical synchronizing signals from record tracks on a record medium, in which the transducers exhibit a predetermined angular separation therebetween, the video signal reproducing system also having means for producing a reference synchronizing signal in phase synchronism with the vertical synchronizing signal reproduced by the first transducer. The apparatus is adapted to produce a substantially phase synchronized reference signal regardless of the particular transducer which is used to reproduce the video signals. The apparatus comprises a delay circuit for delaying the reference synchronizing signal by an amount corresponding to the predetermined angular separation between the transducers; and a switching circuit supplied with this delayed as well as the undelayed reference synchronizing signal. A switch control circuit supplies a switch control signal to the switching circuit to determine whether the delayed or undelayed reference synchronizing signal should be selected, the switch control circuit including a detector for detecting the phase relationship between the vertical synchronizing signal which then is being reproduced and the reference synchronizing signal.
