Methods of accelerating bone cuts, and the devices used therefore, are disclosed. The methods can involve the use of robotic cutting tools.

Devices and methods of accelerating bone cuts

Apparatus and methods of fixating bone include repairing or remodeling a hard tissue defect with a composite bone structure. The composite bone structure includes at least two hard tissues or bones and a scaffold material fixed together by an adhesive component. The apparatus and methods include positioning the hard tissues/bones, conforming the scaffold material to at least a portion of a surface of the hard tissues/bones, contacting the adhesive component with the hard tissues/bones and the scaffold material, and changing the material state of the adhesive component to another material state at which the adhesive component fixes together the hard tissues/bones and the scaffold material, thereby forming a composite bone structure having a desired rigidity.

Apparatus and methods of fixating bone

A method according to the present disclosure may include determining a load to be supported across separated bone regions by a bridge region of a bone plate. The method may further include determining an acceptable cut force (CF) for the bridge region, determining a cross-sectional area (a) of the bridge region based on the determined load, and determining a height (h) and a width (w) of the bridge region. A bone plate may be provided including a bridge region having the height (h) and width (w) for securing the separated bone regions.

Method and apparatus for bone fracture fixation

The present invention provides a non-liquid biomaterial that may be used as a surgical sealant, a suture support, a blood flow controller, an adhesion reducing agent, an adhesion preventing agent, a tissue support, a tissue filler, a wound dressing or a combination thereof. The non-liquid biomaterial may comprise a blood derived material such as plasma, platelet poor plasma, platelet rich plasma or a material derived from blood containing tissue aspirate, such as bone marrow aspirate, a protein binding agent and a polymerizing agent. Methods for making and using the non-liquid biomaterial are also provided.

An elongated plate for coupling severed bone regions comprising at least one bridge region, the at least one bridge region terminating in at least two bone fixation regions. The at least two bone fixation regions each contain at least one aperture for receiving a suitable fastening device for securing the elongated plate to the bone regions to be coupled. The bridge region may be configured so as to be easily severed by a suitable severing device such as surgical scissors. The elongated plate and fastening device may be formed from a bio-compatible or bio-resorbable material.
