A vacuum casting die simpler in configuration and improved in seal performance in vacuum casting using a slide core, provided with a pair of main dies, a sealing member for seamlessly and continuously sealing mating faces around the closed space formed between the main dies, and a slide core housed in the sealed space formed between the main dies sealed by the sealing member.

A die casting machine obtain to obtain a suitable reduced pressure and reliably prevent the entry of molten metal into a valve when reducing the pressure in a cavity and injecting and filling it with a molten metal for casting, provided with the valve for opening and closing an exhaust path, a position detector for detecting an open/closed state of the exhaust path by the valve, an injection apparatus, a position detector for detecting the position of the injection plunger, and a control apparatus for controlling the injection. The control apparatus outputs a control instruction for making it close the exhaust path to the valve when the detected position of the injection plunger reaches a valve closing position set before the speed switching position and stops the drive of the injection plunger when not detecting completion of closure of the exhaust path when the injection plunger reaches the speed switching position.

Die casting machine and casting method

A die casting machine injecting and filling a molten metal into a cavity formed between a pair of dies so as to cast a product, comprising an ejecting pin for ejecting a casting by its front and sticking out inside the cavity and a powder feeder for feeding a powder release agent for promoting release of the casting from the dies, the ejecting pin including a release agent feed path for guiding powder release agent fed from the powder feeder to a front end of the ejecting pin and feeding it to the cavity.

Molten metal supplying apparatus

A pressurized holding furnace having an open feeding chamber is provided with a pressure chamber having a pressure device for pressurizing the pressure chamber and a discharge device for releasing the pressure. The pressure chamber is provided at a lower position than the lowest level of the molten metal in the pressure chamber with an inlet port of a feeding pipe and at a higher position than the highest level of the molten metal in the pressure chamber with an electromagnetic pump.

Holding furnace of constant molten metal level

When molten metal within a molten metal tank is supplied to an injection sleeve of a casting machine through a molten-metal supply pipe by the operation of an electromagnetic pump, a sensor detects changes in height of the surface of molten metal within the tank as time passes, and a controller corrects the period during which the pump is driven on the basis of molten-metal surface detection signals from the sensor. The controller divides the difference in height of the surface of molten metal within the tank as between its highest level and its lowest level into a number n of regions, and drives the pump in such a controlled manner that the pump is connected to a three phase AC power source and is intermittently supplied with three-phase power having a constant voltage and a constant frequency so that the pump controls the molten-metal supply amount with its driven period serving as a molten-metal supply period. A molten-metal supply period for each supply operation is calculated from a predetermined equation using a molten-metal supply period corresponding to the highest level of the molten metal surface which is in turn determined from the results of casting tests. The degree of precision at which molten metal is supplied is further enhanced by an improved structure of the molten-metal supply pipe.

Electromagnetic pump type automatic molten-metal supply apparatus

A method of rapidly discharging a molten metal from its supply system of a pressurized holding furnace having an open feeding chamber provided at one side of a pressure chamber with a suction pipe of a delivery pump, said pressure chamber having an inlet valve and an outlet valve for a pressure gas, in which the pressure chamber is pressurized to keep a constant level of the molten metal in the feeding chamber for maintaining a constant suction head of the delivery pump is disclosed, wherein the suction pipe is situated at a higher position than such a level of the molten metal in the feeding chamber that is lowered when a pressure in the pressure chamber is released while the supply system including the delivery pump is positioned upwardly above the suction pipe, and in that the outlet valve of the pressure chamber is opened when the molten metal is discharged from the supply system for allowing the molten metal to return into the pressure chamber, thereby rapidly lowering the metal level of the feeding chamber below the suction pipe for discharging the molten metal from the supply system into the holding furnace.
