A process is disclosed for the production of connected microgel particles. According to the process, starting microgel particles having particle sizes of 100-0.01 .mu.m and a particle size distribution whose standard deviation is not greater than 100% of a mean particle size of the starting microgel particles are dispersed in a matrix component. The starting microgel particles are soaked with a monomer. The monomer is then polymerized, whereby the starting microgels are connected together. Also disclosed is an article comprising a base material and a layer of such connected microgel particles formed on a surface of the base material.

Production process of connected microgel particles and articles treated

Described is a method for producing a colored silk filament by having a colorant solution absorbed through the spiracles of each silkworm larva and then allowing the larva to secrete the colored silk filament through the spinneret thereof. In this method, a solution of a polymer-linked dyestuff is employed as the colorant solution.

A water swellable resin composition comprises a water swellable resin and a medium such as a plasticizer, solvent, resin or resin solution. Electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising azo compound and coupler

A seed colorant useful especially in coloring seeds to distinguish same from those to be used for foods is formed of an aqueous medium such as water, a dye and/or pigment of a desired hue, and a binder resin composed of the salt of chitosan and an organic acid. The seed colorant may additionally contain spherical resin particles.

A print is produced by printing or coating an infrared reflective coloring agent and another printing ink containing an infrared absorptive coloring agent in combination on a base material. The print therefore contains visually-recognizable information along with other information which is recognizable by infrared rays.

A pigment composition contains a pigment and a dispersant. The dispersant is a polyester compound which contains, per molecule, a residuum of at least two benzene rings coupled together, an aromatic ring having at least 8 carbon atoms or a heterocyclic ring having at least 8 carbon atoms, and at least one ester bond as a principal bond.

A pigment composition contains a pigment and a dispersant. The dispersant is a phosphoric ester compound represented by the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein at least one of the three Rs is a residuum of a polyester chain containing as principal bonds thereof ester bonds of a polycarboxylic acid and a polyalcohol.

There is provided a new pigment composition composed of a pigment and a dispersant wherein the dispersant is a phosphoric ester compound represented by the formula below. ##STR1## (where one or more than one of the three R's are residues of a hydroxy-carboxylic acid and/or hydroxy ester thereof; and one or two of the three R's, in case of being remained, are hydrogen atoms, cations, or residues of an alcohol excluding the above-mentioned residues.)

An azo-pigment represented by the general formula: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, an unsubstituted phenyl group or a substituted phenyl group, R.sub.2 is a residue of a phenylenediamine, and R.sub.3 is a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, a methoxy group or a halogen atom. The azo-pigment of the present invention is useful in applications where azo-pigments are used.
