A static-pressure bearing apparatus that prevents vibrations, the apparatus including an orifice and a vent groove, such that a laminar-flow status may be maintained in the entire region of the routes of the ventilated pressurized gas. A stage equipped with the static-pressure bearing apparatus is also provided. A device for damping runout vibration of a rotating shaft system at least including a rotating shaft and a rotating body rotatably supported by the shaft. A ring () is provided outside a bearing () fitted on a rotating shaft with a clearance between the ring and an outer ring of the bearing. A vibration damping mechanism includes, in order to suppress runout vibration of a rotating shaft system from the radially outside of the ring (), a blade spring () compressed by a preload and a stopper () for setting an operation limit of the blade spring.

Method and apparatus for carrying out a thermal shock test on ceramics

A press apparatus for use in manufacture of a liquid crystal panel presses upper and lower glass substrates placed between a pressure-exerting plate and a pressure-receiving plate while a seal located around the glass substrates is being heated and melted. The pressure-exerting plate is supported by a pressure-transmitting plate through three load cells. The pressure-transmitting plate presses the pressure-exerting plate against the pressure-receiving plate through the load cells and thereby presses the glass substrates uniformly. When a difference between the detection values of the load cells exceeds a predetermined value, it is determined that the glass substrates are not being pressed uniformly and the pressing operations thus stopped.

Press apparatus used for manufacturing a liquid crystal panel

A method of forming from a sintering material slurry a shaped-body to be sintered having a complicated configuration. A mold is prepared using frames, a shielding member swollen with a solvent, and a filler including a substance formed of particles, and utilizing the action of vacuum. A sintering material slurry is poured into the thus prepared mold to form a shaped-body to be sintered.
