Display devices that suppress complications due to uneven shape of a surface on which a semi-transmissive reflective layer is formed are disclosed. In one example, a display device includes first sub-pixels, second sub-pixels, and third sub-pixels. The first sub-pixel includes a first light emitting element that emits first light and third light, the second sub-pixel includes a second light emitting element that emits second light, and the third sub-pixel includes a third light emitting element that emits first light and third light. The light emitting elements respectively include a first electrode, an organic layer including a light emitting layer, a second electrode, and a semi-transmissive reflective layer, and a resonator structure is configured by the first electrode and the semi-transmissive reflective layer. The heights of the semi-transmissive reflective layers in the first light emitting element and the third light emitting element are the same.

A display device includes: a display panel including display elements each including a light emitting unit and a drive circuit for driving the light emitting unit, the display elements being arranged in a two-dimensional matrix on a substrate; and a luminance correction unit for correcting luminances of the display elements in display of an image by the display panel by correcting a gradation value of a video signal, in which a partition () for guiding stray light from a light emitting unit to an optical sensor () provided on the display panel is provided between adjacent light emitting units of the display panel, and the luminance correction unit corrects a gradation value of a video signal associated with each of the display elements on the basis of a gradation value of an uncorrected video signal and a detection result from the optical sensor.

A light emitting element includes a structure in which an anode, an organic layercontaining an organic material and including a light emitting layer, and a cathodeare stacked. The light emitting layer includes, from a side of the anode to a side of the cathode, two or more light emitting regions configured to emit different colors of light. Each light emitting region contains a host material and a dopant material. An absolute value of an ionization potential of the host material contained in a light emitting region near to the cathode is larger than an absolute value of an ionization potential of the host material contained in a light emitting region near to the anode.
