A rotation detecting device includes a plurality of magnetic field generating portions; a magnetic member; a coil wound around the magnetic member; and a magnetic field introducing portion. The magnetic field introducing portion introduces a magnetic flux generated by the magnetic field generating portion to pass through the magnetic member when the magnetic field generating portion passes through a specific location.

Rotation detecting device

A rotation detector provided in a motor unit according to an embodiment includes a first support and a second support, a pair of magnetic field generator, at least one magnetic field detector, and a first magnetic member and a second magnetic member. The pair of magnetic field generator is provided on the first support in a manner facing the second support, and has opposite polarities. The magnetic field detector is formed by winding a coil around a magnetic element whose magnetized direction changes in the longitudinal direction, and is provided on the second support in such a manner that a longitudinal-direction side of the magnetic element faces the first support. Each of the first magnetic member and the second magnetic member is made of a magnetic material, and covers a longitudinal-direction end of the magnetic field detector facing the first support.

Motor unit

A rotation detecting device includes rotation detecting device includes a first supporting member and a second supporting member disposed around an axial line. The rotation detecting device further includes a pair of magnetic field generating portions for generating a magnetic field in a region between the first supporting member and the second supporting member. The rotation detecting device further includes at least one magnetic field detecting portion attached to the second supporting member for detecting the magnetic field. The rotation detecting device further includes a first magnetic member for covering one end portion of the magnetic field detecting portion and a second magnetic member for covering the other end portion of the magnetic field detecting portion.

A pulse signal generator comprises a magnetic element (,) capable of causing a large Barkhausen jump, a detector for detecting a change of magnetic field in the magnetic element, a magnetic field source (,) for magnetizing the magnetic element in a predetermined direction and a permanent magnet (,). The pulse signal generator further comprises an auxiliary member (,) provided such that the magnetic element is flanked between the permanent magnet and the auxiliary member and is in a magnetic field between the permanent magnet and the auxiliary member. The magnetic field varies with movement of an object (,) to be detected with respect to the permanent magnet to produce a magnetic change in the magnetic element which is detected by the detector to produce a pulse.

Motion detection by pulse signal generation

A pulse signal generator comprises a magnetic element capable of causing a large Barkhausen jump, a detector provided in relation to the magnetic element, a magnetic field source provided in the vicinity of the magnetic element to produce a biasing magnetic field which causes a predetermined magnetization of the magnetic element, and a magnetic circuit forming member provided in the vicinity of the magnetic element to produce a main magnetic field which cause a large Barkhausen jump in the magnetic element such that movement of the object to be detected changes the main magnetic field of the magnetic circuit forming member thereby causing a large Barkhausen jump to provide a pulse signal.

Pulse signal generation method and apparatus

A pulse signal generator comprises a magnetic element (1) capable of causing a large Barkhausen jump; a detector (2) provided relative to the magnetic element; a magnetic field generator (3) provided in vicinity of the magnetic element for applying a biasing magnetic field to the magnetic element for making a predetermined magnetization; and a magnetic circuit forming unit (4) provided in vicinity of the magnetic element for applying a main magnetic field to the magnetic element for causing a large Barkhausen jump in the magnetic element. The magnetic field generator is provided with magnetic field concentration means (32A) for concentrating the biasing magnetic field upon the magnetic element and the magnetic field adjusting means (74) for adjusting an intensity of the biasing magnetic field upon the magnetic element.
