To provide a lactic acid polymer composition excellent in transparency, heat resistance and productivity, a molded article, a sheet and a multilayer sheet each of which comprises the composition, a thermoformed article obtained by secondary-forming the sheet or the multilayer sheet, and a process for producing the thermoformed article with excellent productivity. The lactic acid polymer composition of the invention comprises 100 parts by weight of a lactic acid polymer (A), 0.1 to 3 parts by weight of an organic crystal nucleating agent (B) comprising an aliphatic carboxylic acid amide having an amide bond, and 0.1 to 7 parts by weight of a crystallization accelerator (C). The thermoformed article of the invention is obtained with excellent production efficiency by thermoforming the sheet comprising the composition of the invention at a temperature of 60 to 130&#xb0; C.

Provided is a lactic acid-based resin composition that comprises a lactic acid-based resin (component (A)), and an ethylene-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer (component (B)) and/or an ethylene-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer ionomer (component (C)). The lactic acid-based resin composition has good physical properties in melt and can be efficiently formed into films and laminates through casting or extrusion lamination. The paper laminates obtained through extrusion lamination with the resin composition have good moisture barrier property, and have the advantages of good antibacterial ability, good biodegradability and low combustion heat. And the moldings obtained from the resin composition of the invention have a characteristic which is excellent in impact strength. Further, the films and sheets formed of the resin composition have good low-temperature heat-sealability and hot-tack sealability, and the resin composition well serves as a sealant. The resin composition is favorable to various materials in a broad range, for example, for wrapping and packaging materials for foods, drinks, electronic appliances, medicines and cosmetics, for materials for use in agriculture, civil engineering and construction and for materials for compost, etc.

A lactic acid-based resin composition containing a mixture of (A) a mixture of (a1) polylactic acid and (a2) an aliphatic polyester, and (B) an aliphatic block co-polyester having a polylactic acid segment and an aliphatic polyester segment, wherein the aliphatic block co-polyester (B): (1) contains a lactic acid component in an amount of from 20 to 80 wt % in terms of monomer, (2) has a weight average molecular weight of 1,000 or more and less than 60,000, and (3) has a weight average molecular weight of the polylactic acid segment of from 500 to 55,000 and a weight average molecular weight of the aliphatic polyester segment of from 500 to 55,000. A polylactic acid-based resin composition composed of a high molecular ingredient (A) comprising polylactic acid (a1) and an aliphatic polyester (B), and a film, particularly an inflation film, prepared from the resin composition. The film comprising the polylactic acid-based resin composition of the invention is biodegradable and excellent in flexibility and resistance to blocking of film and bleeding-out of plasticizer, has no anisotropy in tear strength, and can be suitably used for an agricultural multi-film and garbage bag. When the film of the invention is used for food wrapping, the film prevents fungus growth and contamination of color or odor, and thus can be suitably used.

A biodegradable lubricative resin composition which withstands use as a material for sliding parts, and slide bearings and gears made from such a resin composition. The resin composition contains an aliphatic polyester which is a monopolymer or copolymer of a hydroxy-carboxylic acid or an aliphatic polyhydroxy alcohol and an aliphatic polybase, the aliphatic polyester preferably containing 50-100 wt % lactic acid, and a lubricant which is a lubricating oil or a solid lubricant. Slide bearings and gears molded from such a resin composition are also proposed.

A thermal resistant resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of polyester (A) having 25-75% by weight of a lactic acid component consisting of 25-75% by weight of a lactic acid-based polymer (a1) and 25-75% by weight of other aliphatic polyester (a2) having a melting point of 100-250.degree. C., and 0.1-70 parts by weight of a crystalline inorganic filler (B) containing 10% by weight or more of SiO.sub.2.
