A method for producing a photographic silver halide emulsion containing silver halide grains having a silver chloride content of 50 mol % or more and at least 30% of the surface area of the grains comprising [111] faces is disclosed, wherein the silver halide grains are formed in the presence of at least one kind of compounds represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, or an aralkyl group; R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, and R.sub.6 each represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of substituting for the hydrogen atom, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5, and R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 each may be ring-condensed, provided that at least one of R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, and R.sub.6 represents an aryl group; and X.sup.- represents a counter anion.

Production method of photographic silver halide emulsion

A silver halide photographic emulsion which comprises silver halide grains having a silver chloride content of at least 60 mol % and an octatetracontahedral crystal form of the kind which is constructed of 48 triangular faces, every one of which contacts convexly with each of its two adjoining faces to form a line and concavely with its one adjoining face to form a line, with the grains being formed in the presence of a synthetic polymer peptizer which contains, as repeating units, units derived from a thioether linkage-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer, in a mole fraction of from about 20 to 100 mole %, thereby achieving low fog and high sensitivity.

Silver halide emulsion and method of preparing the same

A synthetic substrate used for quantitative analysis of a trace enzyme. The substrate has a molecular structure (B)-(A)-(C) comprising at least one structure (A) catalytically affected by the enzyme to be analysed, at least one photographically active labelling structure (B) linked to the structure (A) and at least one specific adsorbing structure (C) linked to the structure (A). The substrate is used in a quantitative analysis of a trace enzyme, in which the structure (A) or the linkage between the structure (A) and the structure (C), or the linkage between the structure (B) and the structure (A) is cleaved by the action of the analyte enzyme. The reaction product of the enzymatic reaction is separated by allowing the same to contact with an adsorbent for the structure (C). The separated reaction product is developed photographically and then the optical density of the resultant developed silver and/or colored dye is measured.

Method for quantitative measurement of trace enzyme and substrate used

A silver halide color photographicmaterial capable of providing an excellent rapid processing property and sharpness as well as forming little stain on a background after processing. The silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material comprises a reflection support provided thereon at least one of each of yellow color developing silver halide emulsion layer, magenta color developing silver halide emulsion layer and cyan color developing silver halide emulsion layer, wherein the spectral sensitivity peaks of the emulsion layers reside in 400 to 490 nm, 530 to 570 nm and 660 to 720 nm, respectively; wherein a silver halide emulsion contained in the cyan color developing silver halide emulsion layer comprises silver halide emulsion comprising silver halide selected from silver chloride, silver bromochloride, silver chloroiodide or silver bromochloroiodide each having an average silver chloride content of 90 mol % or more, and at least one thiocyanic acid salt compound and wherein the spectral sensitivity peak of the cyan color developing silver halide emulsion layer is provided by a J-band absorption of a sensitizing dye represented by the following Formula (I): ##STR1## wherein Z.sub.23 and Z.sub.24 each represent a group of atoms necessary to form a heterocyclic nucleus selected from a benzothiazole nucleus, a benzoselenazole nucleus, a naphthothiazole nucleus and a naphthoselenazole nucleus, each of which may have at least one substituent selected from a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group, and a hydroxyl group, provided that two of the substituents may be combined with each other to form a ring; R.sub.25 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group; R.sub.23 and R.sub.24 each represent a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group; X.sub.21 represents a counter ion; and n.sub.21 is 0 or 1.

Silver halide color photographic material

A novel silver halide photographic material comprising at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a support is provided, characterized in that said emulsion layer comprises (i) silver halide grains which are at least 80 mol % silver chloride, (ii) at least one thiocyanate, (iii) at least one cyanine dye represented by general formula (I) and (iv) at least one compound represented by general formula (II), (III) or (IV): ##STR1##

A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material spectrally sensitized in an infrared region is described. The silver halide photographic light-sensitive material has at least one silver halide photographic emulsion layer containing at least one infrared-sensitizing dye represented by the following general Formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R, D, Z, Z.sub.1, X, and n are as described in the specification; and at least one compound represented by the following general Formula (II): ##STR2## wherein Z.sub.2, R.sub.6, R.sub.7 and X.sub.1 are described in the specification. Image forming method

A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed. The material is comprised of a support base having thereon a silver halide emulsion layer and a high molecular compound having a repeating unit containing a residue of benzotriazoles. The repeating unit may be represented by the general formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, L represents a divalent bonding group, and X represents a monovalent group of benzotriazoles. Improved antifogging agent effects are obtained by utilizing the high molecular compound of applicants' invention in connection with silver halide photographic light-sensitive materials.
