An image display whereby one can extremely easily know the current position of one's own vehicle and also grasp the actual situation around the current position of the vehicle, and with which the user gets highly satisfied. The image display includes a display device to display a photo picture on a prescribed reduced scale which is prepared based on photo data on a first scale that is read from a storage device in which photo data of two or more types in different scales to one area is stored, and a display switching device to conduct display switching according to a user's command to a photo picture on another reduced scale which is prepared based on photo data in a second scale that is different from the first scale.

Data transfer apparatus and data transfer system

This invention relates to a control system for controlling equipment provided inside a vehicle utilizing a speech recognition apparatus inside the vehicle. This control system includes an in-phase component detector (4) for detecting an in-phase component of voice signals from microphones (1), a phase shift and in-phase component detector (5) for shifting a phase of the voice signals to detect an in-phase component, and a command seat discriminator (6) for comparing output levels of the in-phase component detector (4) and the phase shift and in-phase component detector (5). In addition, the control system includes validity/invalidity detector (7) for determining the validity and invalidity of a command content resulting from outputs of a speech recognizer (3) based upon a signal generated from the command seat discriminator (6), and a various controller (8) that controls any one of various pieces of equipment with respect to the valid commands output from the validity/invalidity detector (7) to reliably discriminate commands from the driver's seat and the passenger seats in a noisy vehicle.

Control system for controlling equipment provided inside a vehicle

A digital signal processor comprises a code converter which converts an integer coded in a Binary Two's Complement (BTC) code to an integer coded in a Sign Magnitude Binary (SMB) code and/or a code converter which converts the SMB code to the BTC code. An integer coded in the BTC code and stored in an m-bits register is converted to an integer coded in the SMB code and input to an n-bits register, by an EXCLUSIVE OR processing of the bits with the sign bits and by supplementing a logic '1' in the less significant bit next to the least significant bit of the result of the exclusive OR operation. An integer coded in the SMB code and stored in an n-bits register is converted to an integer coded in the BTC code and input to an m-bits register, by an EXCLUSIVE OR processing of m-1 bits of magnitude bits with a sign bit. The code converters have a relatively simple construction, will not output an incorrect result, and are most suitable for processing AC signals.
