In a touch sensor in which a touch sensor body is attached to a cover member, the cover member includes: a first member made of a glass plate and having a first surface and a second surface that is an opposite surface of the first member from the first surface; and a resin film made of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) and formed on the second surface. The resin film is located between the first member and the touch sensor body.

A first member of a cover member includes an operation portion disposed so as to correspond to a position where a sensor body is attached and having a sensor region (T) of substantially the same size as a sensor unit on the front side of the operation portion, and a design connection portion that is continuous with a side part of the operation portion and that has a surface formed so as to be continuous with a contoured surface of a wall and curved with a smaller radius of curvature than a surface shape of the operation portion.

A touch panel includes a light-transmitting cover lens, a sensor portion, and a first adhesive layer. The first adhesive layer bonds the cover lens and the sensor portion to each other. The first adhesive layer has a storage elastic modulus at 90&#xb0; C. of 68 kPa or more and 200 kPa or less. When a surface of the cover lens, being in contact with the first adhesive layer, is a bonding surface, a water contact angle on the bonding surface of the cover lens is more than 0&#xb0; and 59&#xb0; or less.

Touch panel

A touch panel includes an upper substrate, an upper conductive layer, a lower substrate, a lower conductive layer, and dot spacers. The upper substrate includes a substrate layer and a hard coat layer disposed on the top surface of the substrate layer. The upper conductive layer is disposed on the bottom of the upper substrate. The lower conductive layer is disposed on the top surface of the lower substrate in such a manner as to confront the upper conductive layer with a predetermined space therebetween. The dot spacers are disposed on the lower conductive layer. The hard coat layer has an outer surface with a ten-point average roughness Rz in the range from 17.7 &#x3bc;m to 40.0 &#x3bc;m, inclusive.

The touch panel of the present invention has a thermally color-changing portion in the vicinity of a connecting portion which is to be bonded by heat. It can be easily checked whether the heat press has been performed at a predetermined temperature when the wiring board is connected to the top and bottom substrates, based on the degree of coloring of the thermally color-changing portion. This allows the touch panel to be manufactured simply and to ensure reliable electrical contact and separation.

A touch panel includes a light-transmittable upper substrate, a light-transmittable upper resistor layer on a lower surface of the upper substrate, a light-transmittable lower substrate, a light-transmittable lower resistor layer on an upper surface of the lower substrate, an adhesive layer on an upper surface of the upper substrate, and a light-transmittable plate on the adhesive layer. The upper substrate is made of material having oxygen and nitrogen removed therefrom. The lower resistor layer faces the upper resistor layer by a distance. The light-transmittable plate disables oxygen and nitrogen to pass through the plate substantively. Even being used in high temperatures, this touch panel does not produce an air bubble in the adhesive layer, hence allowing a user to clearly view a display device through the touch panel.

Touch panel and method of manufacturing the same

A touch panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a wiring substrate provided with a plurality of wiring patterns formed thereon, and an anisotropic conductive adhesive layer. The first substrate has a first conductive layer and first electrodes extending from two opposite sides of the first conductive layer. The second substrate has a second conductive layer confronting the first surface with a space, and second electrodes extending from two opposite sides of the second conductive layer. The anisotropic conductive adhesive layer connects a terminal portion of the wiring patterns to at least one of the first electrodes and the second electrodes. The wiring substrate has a slit or an aperture between the wiring patterns at one end thereof. The touch panel of this structure is easy to produce, and provides reliable operation and electrical connection and separation.

A touch panel is equipped with a light-transmissive upper substrate, a light-transmissive lower substrate, a polarizing plate bonded onto a top surface of the upper substrate, and a light-transmissive adhesive layer containing acid acceptors. A lower surface of the upper substrate is formed thereon with an upper conductive layer, and a top surface of the lower substrate is formed thereon with a lower conductive layer facing the upper conductive layer, with a certain air gap provided. The polarizing plate has a polarizer and a triacetylcellulose film bonded onto both surfaces of the polarizer. The adhesive layer bonds at least one of the polarizer with the triacetylcellulose film and the upper substrate with the polarizing plate. This makeup provides the touch panel with favorable visibility and easy operability.

A wiring board used for various electronic apparatuses, an input device such as an optically transparent touch panel using the wiring board, and a method of manufacturing the input device. A plurality of electrodes provided at the side of one end of one principal surface of wiring board, wiring patterns coupled to electrodes, and a connector disposed region provided at the side of the other end of wiring board are provided. In this connector disposed region, connectors are disposed. In substantially the central portion of the connector disposed region, a concave portion is provided and in the vicinity of connectors, a bending portion is disposed. Furthermore, a cut portion is disposed between or in the vicinity of the plurality of connectors. The wiring board may thereby be manufactured with all conductive portions on one side and then, by bending. some connectors maybe be positioned on the other side.

A touch panel which is constituted by using an adhesive layer having a thickness which is 70% or more of a thickness of an approximately picture-frame-like spacer which allows respective outer peripheries of an upper substrate and a lower substrate to adhere to each other is provided. Due to such a constitution, when the touch panel is used under high temperature or in an environment where the temperature difference is severely large so that the thermal expansion or shrinkage is generated on upper substrate or lower substrate, these thermal expansion and shrinkage can be absorbed by the thick and soft adhesive layer. As a result, it is possible to suppress the peeling-off of upper and lower substrates thus realizing a surely manipulable touch panel.

A touch panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a polarizing plate and a compensating plate. A first conductive layer is formed on the first substrate. The second substrate is formed so as to face the first substrate and has a second conductive layer facing the first conductive layer at a certain interval. The polarizing plate having a heat shrinkage ratio larger than that of the first substrate is laminated on a side, which is opposite to the second substrate, at the first substrate. The compensating plate having substantially an identical heat shrinkage ratio with that of the first substrate is laminated on a side, which is opposite to the first substrate, at the polarizing plate.

A wiring substrate to be used in a variety of electronic apparatuses, and an input device, such as an optically transparent touch panel, using the same wiring substrate, and a method of manufacturing the same input device are disclosed. The invention simplifies a construction of the wiring substrate, reduces the number of manufacturing steps of the substrate, and makes all the connectors of the substrate in a single-sheet structure. The electrical and mechanical connections of those connectors to other connecting means can be thus highly reliable. A transparent touch panel is structured by forming connecting layers that contain conductive metal powder dispersed in a resin, on ends of wiring patterns on a wiring board to which upper electrodes and lower electrodes are to be bonded. This structure can provide a transparent touch panel that ensures bonding of upper and lower substrates and the wiring board and stable electrical connection.

A detecting value expressing the quantity of light received of the detecting light (L ) is divided by a reference value expressing the quantity of light received of the reference light (L ), to obtain a computed value, based on which performed is identification of plastic forming the object to be identified . The wavelength of the reference light (L ) is in a wavelength band (hereat, 1550 nm) in which the light absorptances of all the types of plastics are of the lowest level, and the wavelength of the detecting light (L ) is in a wavelength region (hereat, in the range of 1700 to 1760 run) in which the absorption wavelength bands of many plastics except for PET, such as HDPE, are present.
