There is provided a steel pipe for fuel injection pipe that assures prolonged fatigue life and high reliability by securing a high critical internal pressure, at which fatigue fracture does not occur, while the material strength is high. A steel pipe for fuel injection pipe consisting of, by mass percent, C: 0.12 to 0.27%, Si: 0.05 to 0.40%, and Mn: 0.8 to 2.0%, the balance being Fe and impurities, the impurities containing Ca: 0.001% or less, P: 0.02% or less, and S: 0.01% or less, wherein the tensile strength thereof is not lower than 900 N/mm, and the maximum diameter of a nonmetallic inclusion present during at least 20 &#x3bc;m depth from the inner surface of the steel pipe is not larger than 20 &#x3bc;m. Further, this steel pipe can contain one or more kinds of Cr: 1% or less, Mo: 1% or less, Ti: 0.04% or less, Nb: 0.04% or less, and V: 0.1% or less.

Manufacturing method for a steel pipe for fuel injection pipe

A fuel rail for high-pressure direct-injection internal combustion engines has an injector holder and a fastening bracket directly attached to a main body of the fuel rail. Thermal deformation may occur at the time of temporary fitting or brazing when assembling the rail. However, positional accuracy of the injector holder can be assured, which results in having an excellent sealing property. Components of the fuel rail for direct-injection internal combustion engines are made of steel or stainless steel, and the components are joined reciprocally by brazing. The components joined by brazing are finished by cutting work and/or burnishing processing after the brazing step.

A thick-wall small-diameter high-pressure fuel injection pipe has a spherical seat surface, an annular flange, and a conical surface continued from the seat surface at a connecting end of the pipe. If the pipe is configured so that t (thickness)/D (outer diameter)&#x3c;0.3, then an axial distance from the connecting head end to the back face of the annular flange is 0.38D to 0.6D, a spherical radius of the seat surface is 0.45D to 0.65D, the annular flange outer diameter is 1.2D to 1.4D, and an inner peripheral surface of the head has a substantially flat cylindrical surface or a conical surface. If the pipe is configured so that t (thickness)/D (outer diameter)&#x2267;0.3, then the axial distance from the connecting head end to the back face of the annular flange is 0.38D to 0.7D.

A heat exchanger tube has an inner peripheral surface serving as an exhaust gas flow path with a flat cross-sectional shape. A thin structure is incorporated in the heat exchanger tube and has a substantially rectangular channel-shaped waveform in cross section. There is provided a high-pressure metal pipe which has a connecting head capable of solving the risk of cavitation erosion in the inside of the connecting head by changing the contour shape of a pocket or notch to be formed in the inside of the connecting head during head working into a contour shape having a shallow depth and a gentle cross section. A reduced-diameter connecting head having an outside circumferential surface which is a seat surface having a truncated conical or spherical shape corresponding to a mating seat is provided at a connecting end portion of a thick-walled steel pipe having a comparatively small diameter. A magnet type fan clutch apparatus is formed of an electromagnetic clutch mounted on one driving shaft, and a magnet coupling operatively connected to the electromagnetic clutch. The magnetic coupling includes a permanent magnet rotary body to which a fan is fixed, and a disc having a conductor or a hysteresis member opposed to the permanent magnet rotary body with a narrow clearance left therebetween; and formed so that the permanent magnet rotary body and disc are rotated together or relatively owing to an attraction working between the permanent magnet and conductor. The magnetic coupling is formed so as to be ON/OFF controlled by the electromagnetic clutch, and a seal structure is provided between the disc and permanent magnet rotary body.

A common rail has a main pipe rail with a peripheral wall. A boss is provided on the peripheral wall, and a branch hole extends through the boss and into the main pipe rail. The branch hole has a pressure receiving seat face. A branch pipe has a pressing seat face that is urged into the pressure receiving seat face by a fastening nut. An orifice pipe is mounted in the branch hole and abuts against an end of the branch pipe without effecting sealing performance between the pressing seat face and the pressure receiving seat face.

A diesel engine fuel injection pipe includes a head having a conical or spherical seat surface, a clamping nut, and an orifice-pipe disposed at an end of the fuel injection pipe or in the interior of the fuel injection pipe near the end thereof, the orifice pipe having an outer diameter smaller than or equal to the diameter of a pipe passage of the diesel engine fuel injection pipe in the interior of the diesel engine fuel injection pipe near at least one end portion thereof.
