A coin processing apparatus according to the present invention includes: a coin conveying section that conveys coins on a coin passage; an identifying section that identifies coins on the coin passage; at least one discharging section that discharges normal coins that are identified as normal by the identifying section from the coin passage; at least first and second removing sections that remove abnormal coins that are identified as abnormal by the identifying section from the coin passage; and a control section that distributes abnormal coins to either one of the first and second removing sections in order to remove the abnormal coins, in accordance with identification factors of the abnormal coins.

A coin processing device includes: a passage along which a coin is transferred from an upstream-end toward a downstream-end thereof; an opening formed on the passage; a gate including a guide section that constitutes a part of the passage while the opening is closed and has a stepped portion formed at a portion of the guide section which is closer to the downstream-end of the passage, the gate being tilted so as to lift a portion thereof which is closer to the upstream-end of the passage in a state where the opening is closed to open the opening; and a gate mechanism for causing the coin to fall though the opening by tilting the gate. In this coin processing device, while the gate is open, the stepped portion receives a portion of the coin in the direction of the upstream.

A coin wrapping machine includes a rotatable disk for feeding coins toward a coin passage by centrifugal force produced by the rotation thereof, a disk motor for rotating the rotatable disk, a transporting belt for transporting the coins along the coin passage, a belt motor for driving the transporting belt, a coin stacker, a coin wrapping device having a plurality of wrapping rollers, a wrapping roller motor for driving the wrapping rollers, a pair of crimp claws, a crimp claw motor for moving the pair of crimp claws, and a driving speed controller for controlling the disk motor, the belt motor, the wrapping roller motor and the crimp claw motor based on the denomination of the predetermined coins. According to this coin wrapping machine, it is possible to stack and wrap coins having different shapes, diameters, thickness and the like efficiently and as desired.

A feeder of wrapping paper is located adjacent to a coin wrapping machine. The feeder comprises a frame, a turntable rotatably mounted on the frame, a motor positioned within the frame for rotating the turntable, guide plates for guiding the wrapping paper along a predetermined path, and a controller for controlling the operation of the motor. The turntable forms a substantially horizontal plane on which an operator can place a roll of the wrapping paper and is provided with a plurality of opening areas for accommodating the operator's fingers supporting a lower side surface of the roll. The controller controls the operation of the motor in association with a feed roller constituting a wrapping device of the coin wrapping machine. The roll of wrapping paper on the turntable is rotated with the rotation of the turntable by the motor so as to deliver the wrapping paper in association with the feed roller.

An unacceptable coin removing apparatus for a coin handling machine having a rotatable disk for receiving deposited coins, an annular guide provided on the periphery of the rotatable disk and formed with an opening, a coin sorting passage connected to the opening downstream thereof, a pair of guide plates provided for the coin sorting passage, the space between the pair of guide plates being adjustable and the pair of guide plates being capable of supporting a predetermined denomination of coins in accordance with the space therebetween, a coin collecting opening provided below the pair of guide plates, a coin transporting belt provided in the coin sorting passage for transporting coins by contacting the upper faces of coins in the coin sorting passage, a drive motor for driving the rotatable disk and the coin transporting belt and a sensor provided downstream of the coin collecting opening in the coin sorting passage for detecting the characteristics of the coins, the unacceptable coin removing apparatus further including a first stopper provided downstream of the sensor in the coin sorting passage and capable of preventing coins from being further transported, a second stopper provided downstream of the first stopper in the coin sorting passage and capable of preventing coins from being further transported, and a controller for judging based upon signals input from the sensor whether each coin is acceptable or not. This unacceptable coin removing apparatus can remove unacceptable coins using a simple structure and enables the coin handling machine to be made compact.

A coin wrapping paper feeding apparatus for a coin wrapping machine in which coin wrapping paper fed out from a coin wrapping paper storing section is cut by cutter to a predetermined length and the coin wrapping paper is wound around stacked coins by wrapping rollers, thereby to wrap the stacked coins, the coin wrapping paper feeding apparatus including a feed roller disposed between the coin wrapping paper storing section and the cutter for feeding the coin wrapping paper to the cutter, a motor for rotating the feed roller, a wrapping paper holder disposed between the coin wrapping paper storing section and the feed roller and adapted to hold the coin wrapping paper, a rotation number detector for detecting the number of rotations of the feed roller, a preparatory operation start detector for detecting start of preparatory operation for coin wrapping operation and outputting a start signal, and a controller for enabling the motor to start the rotation of the feed roller and enabling the rotation number detector to start the detection of the number of rotations of the feed roller when receiving the start signal, and enabling the motor to stop the rotation of the feed roller when it judges that the number of rotations of the feed roller input from the rotation number detector has reached a predetermined value. In this coin wrapping paper feeding apparatus, it is possible to easily and safely carry out a preparatory operation for coin wrapping operation.
