An angular velocity sensor unit judging whether there is a failure in both of two angular velocity sensors. The angular velocity sensor unit includes a first angular velocity sensor () and a second angular velocity sensor (), each including an oscillator having a shaft portion and an oscillatory portion. Each of the angular velocity sensors () is arranged such that its shaft portion is not in parallel with an XY-plane defined by an X-axis and a Y-axis of three orthogonal axes. The failure of the second angular velocity sensor is judged based on whether or not a detection value of an angular velocity about a Z-axis lies outside a tolerance range of a detection value of the angular velocity about the Z-axis by the other angular velocity sensor, and the failure of the first angular velocity sensor is judged by comparison with a pseudo-calculated angular velocity.

Angular velocity sensor unit and angular velocity sensor diagnosing device

A high-reliability complex sensor is protected against vibration and electromagnetic wave noise from outside. A shield case is provided with a power conjunction terminal, GND conjunction terminal, angular velocity conjunction terminal, X axis acceleration conjunction terminal and Y axis acceleration conjunction terminal. Both a power supply terminal of an angular velocity detection device and a power supply terminal of an acceleration detection device are electrically connected with a power connector terminal of a protection case, via the power conjunction terminal of the shield case. Both a GND terminal of the angular velocity detection device and a GND terminal of the acceleration detection device are electrically connected with a GND connector terminal of the protection case, via the GND conjunction terminal of the shield case. A circuit board is contained completely within the shield case.

Composite sensor for detecting angular velocity and acceleration

An angular velocity sensor structured so as to reduce the application of external vibrations to tuning fork as described below. Supporting plate having plate having placement part for placing first rubber body over the top face thereof is placed above the top face of second base via at least two supports so as to provide space between the top face of second base and the supporting plate. First cover and fist base housing tuning fork are placed on first rubber body. Further placed on first cover is second rubber body. The top face of supporting plate and the inner ceiling of second cover compress and hold first rubber body and second rubber body therein.
